What if instead of a continuation of the series, we get a few films from the decepticons point of view of what happened in the trilogy, not like shattered glass, but have them be the main characters along with Dylan.
    Thoughts?

I would rather have something taking place after DOTM, but it would be nice if future movies had a Decepticon point of view.

Hell, it would be nice if any Transformers media would have a Decepticon point of view more often.

This seems pretty interesting and I would love to watch that. But then again, would it work for the general audience?

hmm.....Nah. We would understand what's going on maybe, but not the other audience. Plus, there would be no more of a story than what the critics thought the movies didn't have. Simply put: What would be the point?

That's a nice idea. I think there were only two scenes in the movie series that showed the cons actually interacting

    Maybe. Maybe.

I'd still rather the films to closer to this; 70-80% for the Autobots and Humans screen time, and 20-30% for the Decepticons screen time.

I'm going to say yes. I think I would like that. I've never viewed Optimus as a good guy. Leading his race to its doom and showing absolutely no mercy towards those that wish to save it.

And let the flame wars begin.:ev: :popcorn

I say no. Something like that should just go straight to DVD/Blu Ray if they do go that route.

They'd never have a Decepticon POV film. What would be the point? Watch them conspire and blow up some helpless humans.

    Yawn.....sounds real exciting.

What AquamanOS said; I despise villain protagonists, since at the end of the day, they are still villains and still need to be slain. Even when reading/watching MacBeth in high school, I never cared for MacBeth himself; I didn't see it as a tragedy, just the tale about how a guy let his ambition rule him and do some unspeakable shit. I honestly would have rather followed MacDuff.

I love the idea, but frankly the general audience would be kinda confused and I personally don't think it would pay off (financially).

So, would it be cool if it happened? Yes, yes, a hundred times YES!

    Should there be? No, TBH.

    Does that make sense?

There's also the fact that we already know nothing major happened in prequel times worth making a whole movie about. That's not set on Cybertron (which is never happening. It would be way too expensive, and night impossible to film because it would be entirely Green screen, with nothing to put up against said screen)

The beginning of the Decepticon conspiricy might make a few interesting moments, but since it won't pay off until DOTM anyway, nothing really interesting can happen. Likewise there were no major Decepticon movements between TF and ROTF, and ROTF, and DOTM to fill an entire film.

It's a bad idea. I refer to the DS game, Kingdom Hearts 356 (or something) Days as a perfect example of trying to make a project to explore a midquel moment that people expressed interest in knowing about, only to discover that nothing really of note was worth talking about that wasn't retconed in (and even then this is lacking), and as a result is just characters appearing but not being allowed to do anything, and random monster killing.

You don't want this. Trust me.

I think it would be difficult for the audience to empathize with the Decepticons, especially after the way they've been portrayed in the last 3 films.

This. Good idea but not worthy of the $150-200m drop
