Did Optimus's trailer blow up in that one video? Because it kind of looked like it.

He has a different trailer there. It's the same trailer as we've seen in some of the photos with parts on it instead of the whole trailer.

Yeah now that I looked at that picture again I can see that it's a different trailer. I wonder why Optimus has two trailers.

Just in-case he forgets where the first one went, we all know how forgetful Optimus is.

just saw this vid. but yeah i'm going to agree. it's getting blown up. it gives for the fans and at the same time it gets rid of it for less 'plot holes' and it just doesn't disappear, but gets blown up

and it probably does in the first 5 minutes of the movie. LOL that's what happened in the A-Team movie, all the fans were happy to see the iconic black van back then it gets destroyed in the first 5 minutes never to be seen again. I just KNOW this is going to happen here.

Here's a video that gives a really good look at the contents of that second trailer; I don't think this is intended to be the in-movie contents of Prime's trailer, but rather pyrotechnic equipment for making explosions and debris fly. That said, knowing Bay if they were going to blow up Prime's trailer I think he would really blow it up. And they didn't.

They will put in post because you cant actually blow up a trailer in downtown Chicago.

That's probably true. What I don't get though is why they would rig it to hurl chunks of pavement and a car tire, which you can see at 1:12 in that same video.

Maybe there is a car inside? The 'pavement' could very well be parts of a building that got blown off because of the explosion.

That video helped a lot, called my friends at Disneyland and here is your answer!
those are giant "spark pits" as they are called and are pretty much used to shoot fireworks, hence like the explosion you saw mostly looked like fireworks, if you were to pull off any "explosion" it would cause a concussion "boom" effect and essentially blow out all the windows on the building being that close to any sort of explosion.

But he did mention they there were a lot of spark pits and they were pretty big, for the "explosion" he saw on the video.

EDIT: and the pavement isn't pavement that's being hurled its giant styrofoam, saw a video of them loading it up in the prop truck and one was loading it one handed.

    Good to know, thanks!

Of course, but it's intended to look like pavement.
