By the time I was old enough for this stuff, G2 was barely around, and if I wasn't already into cars & vehicles since practically childbirth, I probably wouldn't have latched on. Then when it came to Beast Wars, a lot of people our age might've already been outgrowing it as anything more than a cool show after not being super attached from before, meaning that when the non-beast stuff made its return, it might not've resonated the same way as people who grew up with it for a long time. Plus, we also had shit like Pokemon & anime in general booming in our wake (not to mention multiple incarnations of Star Wars & every other revivals), so that might've taken away some of the TF interests, be it loosely. That's my theory, anyway.
