So, i just found out what the title in Portugal will be: Transformers - Retaliação (retaliation)....

Although it actually sounds good, since the fallen is a character, it has nothing to do with the original title....(i hate when that happens)

and with that said...what is the movie name in your country? (you who don't have english as a mother language that is)

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen :D

Just out interest, I wonder what happens if you use something like Google or Babelfish, translate the title into any foreign language, then back into English... Let's see:

After going away and trying this, Babelfish gave far more interesting results:

French: Transformateurs : Vengeance du tombé - Transformers: Revenge on fallen
Dutch: Transformatoren: Wraak van gevallen - Transformers: Revenge of cases
German: Transformatoren: Rache von gefallen - Transformers: Revenge of please
Portugese: Transformadores: Vingança do caído - Transforming: Revenge of the fallen one
Italian: Trasformatori: Vendetta del caduto - Transformers: Vendetta of the fallen

Hm..After checking a few pages, in Argentina will be: "Transformers 2: La Venganza de los Caidos". o_O  Odd is that the word "Fallen" is translated in plural. Not sure yet, i got the title from a few pages, i havent seen posters or anything so.

    Hah. Revenge of Cases.

I picture a movie about suitcases taking over the city, wearing bowler hats and carrying tommy guns. And they transform into one giant being called The Luggage.

Is that supposed to be Japanese?

Coz in Japan, they call Transformers by its Katakana name (トランスフォーマー), not Kanji.

And 下落 is closer to location than fallen.

And that would translate into Location of Revenge of "Changing Squeezing Machines"?

    O_O

Sounds like Prime got tired of being pushed around.

Also, that lengthy Japanese title would be hilariously awesome.

Here in Argentina was announce as: TRANSFORMERS: "La Venganza de los caidos".

Making Reference of all the decepticons and not to "The Fallen" as one character.
So, i send a e-mail to complain about it :D

We get: "Transformers - De Faldnes Hævn", which is pretty much a straight translation if it weren't for the fact that they interpreted "The Fallen" as a plural statement... :D

I confirmed this with Paramount Denmark, but am a bit reluctant as to whether I should point this out what with all the media they have planned already going live... :)

I think big thing here is that, not everybody knows about "The fallen".
And, another languages doesn't have this double sense for certain words, or difference about the words in plural.

    It's so complicated! hehe.
Anyways, i don't like some spanish dubs :p
