How did Optimus Prime know about Megatron crash landing in the Arctic and Sam's grandfather finding him and activating his navigation system?

Yup, they saw the listing for Sam's grandpa's glasses and were able to recognize Cybertronian symbols on them. They then back tracked his user ID and found him. They didn't know about Megatron until they were able to get a good look at the glasses.

The flashback is deceiving. We see what actually happens, while Optimus simply gives what he knows. (probably from what Bumblebee told him before they actually arrived) All he knows is that the Allspark is on Earth, Megatron crashed, and the coordinates ended up on Witwicky's glasses. (most likely because Archie activated his navigation systems)

It's basic deduction based on the facts they have. The flashback is telling the audience what happened, we're not supposed to take that as Optimus knowing all the details.

You know, roughly the same amount of brain power used to type this pointless statement could have been used to realise it's not a plot hole at all. But I guess that wouldn't be as easy as just parroting what countless have said before.

Even in the realm of this flawed outlook the statement is still wrong, since it wouldn't be another plot hole since the issue has been raised and debunked before.

Bumblebee probably did a good amount of recon long before Optimus and the others arrived, so he could've let them know via Cybertronian Wi-Fi or something.

    1.The Autobots have better intel
2.The Autobots followed a different lead, rather than trying to get secret project Iceman files from the military they might have tracked down psychiatry files from a certain lunatic captain Witwicky screaming shit about a giant stuck in ice.
    3. During the scene with Frenzy inside Barricade opening the laptop, the computer identifies Cybertronian markings from the eBay picture Sam took. There might be more information in those than just coördinates to the Allspark.
    4. Probably a mix between all of the former. Autobots realise Earth has not been taken over yet and the cube is not yet found. Scan Earth internet for clues of Cybertronian contact. Find glasses on eBay. Find who glasses originally belonged to. Find out guy went mad after Arctic expedition.

Not really a plothole, in my opinion. I'm more interested to see how this ties into DOTM, since SPOILER ALERT
supposedly the Decepticons have been working with humans to prevent humans and Autobots from finding out the Ark's spacebridge plans, and they want to use the human race as slaves to strip Earth's resources.

Did they just not bother to look for Megatron and especially the Allspark all these years? If they did, then why did Starscream's group arrive much later? Was the plot in DOTM just some really, really weird backup plan in case all else fails? :p

I actually think that RotF was the back-up plan, since rebuilding Cybertron would theoretically take a lot of Energon... With the Cube gone, Megatron had no choice but to let the Fallen lead him to a secondary source of Energon.

At least, that would be in a perfect world.

    OR

Or Sentinel, The fallen and Megatron were all plotting to use the Sun harvester on earth to replenish Cybertron's dwindling resources and using the space bridge technology to transport the planet to earth and filter the energy collected from the Sun to Cybertron.

Since the Harvester was destroyed Megatron and Sentinel during the course of DOTM could decide on a plan B that involves space bridging Cybertron to earths orbit and then using humans as a slave force to refurbish Cybertron with earth as a kitbash. Megatron and Sentinel start having troubles and in fighting with each other since probably The Fallen was the deal maker and the one Sentinel would confer with while Sentinel didn't like Megatron for experiences during the war at Megatron's hands.

He eradicated all the primes he could find BEFORE the war. Afterwards he was hiding off somewhere in the nemesis.

If I say something that can be used to deduce a spoiler without actually looking at it, I use the tags.
