I found the new set of Transformers TECH toys at the Toys R Us in Woodbridge, VA today. They had a ton of both of these. One is a camcorder that turns into a blaster and the other is a spot light I think that transforms into something (sorry, can't remember). I didn't buy these but here's a low quality camera-phone shot of them in the store.
They look stupid but the sound effects are really cool. G1 TF sound plus a little digitized remix of the theme song. I didn't buy any but I was tempted.
I would say "crap-tacular" or something to that effect, but knowing my luck, one of like 3 people who are a big enough fan of these to post on the board would come in and just flame my ass into oblivion for it. Lets just say, they're not my thing.
Yeah, I saw those 2 weeks ago. They still look like crap. I somewhat like the Cell Phone Tech Toy just cause it has they G1 theme song sound byte.
Yep, I saw those two last week here in Jersey. Seemed like both waves hit at the same time here. Neat role-play toys, if you're into that kind of thing. I like the Real Gear stuff better since you actually get a robot out of the deal.
Saw these at my Manassas, VA TRU yesterday, 4 Aug 2007. A tranforming toy does not equal a Transformer. No sale. Hopefully young children and "TF Oddity" collectors will like. Just does not hold any interest for me.
I never liked any of these, and these new ones are awful, no purchases here. Transforming into robots however, completely different matter.
I saw these this weekend as well. None of them seem to be selling except the cell phone. I think if these were role-play toys on the caliber or Prime's Big-Rig Blaster, they would big a bigger hit.
My local TRU has full shelves of these babies and a ton of cyber slammin Barricades, but not much else..
