trying some new things, how's this?
That's what we're here for! We hold ourselves to high standards in this thread, and appreciate the constructive criticism of our peers.
Clearly, shooting the vehicle modes is your speciality. With a black background, however, the surface is completely lost without something shiny under the subject...
It doesn't need to be highly reflective, just flat and smooth.
Oh, and of course you've got to keep the surface clean of dust and particles.
Give the dog the night off; send him to the movies or something.
Really grainy and pixelated, man. Are you over-enhancing the sharpness with photo editing software or something?
Now's the time to be filling the holes in your Animated collections; the market has tanked, and leftover retail stock is on clearance wherever you can find it here.
I got Wreck-Gar, Skywarp, Sunstorm and the twins for 75% off.
^ Yeah, that's better. Still too much digital edge-enhancement, though.
I looked at animation reference for Arcee, and decided the stock figure could use a few more paint app's:
I added lips and eyeliner to match her onscreen appearance.
Still looks more like a Decepticon, though.
^ That mold has a lot of opportunity for little touch ups like that, and with panel lining. It looks so much better post-enhancements.
Thanks for the kind words again. Any news of the figures?
I'm liking this set, esp the first few! Yes Black's quite difficult. Works for some colours and really messes up for others. I started with black too and have re-shot some of the figures many times. And yup, dust appears very prominently on black.
Anyway here's some of the shots that I'm happy with:
^HOLY SHIT that looks amazing on a black backdrop. (Also jealous of that figure)
So I'm discovering!
I've also discovered a more practical means of integrating Arcee's massive spoiler/wings in robot mode. They look so off-model attached to the top of the backpack, but they can be fitted under the backpack instead:
They're much less intrusive this way, and take up a lot less space.
I've acquired thirteen Animated figures this month, but none of them from Singapore...
That clear blue Mirage is fabulous, by the way.
Houston, the Eagle has landed.
Surprisingly large and detailed jet mode:
Looks great with Universe Silverbolt...
...and with Fireflight, of course.
The Voyager seeker mold we've always wanted for our CHUG displays.
TFC stands to make a ton of money off retools and repaints of this figure!
Goddamn, that looks good.
Dammit, that looks good.
Oh my that is lovely.
