they are now listed at 16.99 ea on TRU.com
Is that Voyager or Deluxe?
Damn $16.99 is the Canadian price on Prime deluxes. I hope that we don't see suck a hike in price.

He's right! Deluxes are now $17!
buy them in the sales
Wow. Arcee and Starscream were nice enough that the $13 I just spent in-store wasn't too bad, even if they are pretty small(in alt mode, at least)
$17 seems really high, but I admit that's partially because I've taken advantage of DOTM sales and caught up on tons of 2009-2011 product at closeout stores this year. Hopefully its just TRU being TRU with their constant "sales" that bring half the store closer to normal retail. I probably won't be anything close to a completist otherwise.
$17! That's just crazy.
Isn't the Christmas price-hike a fairly standard occurence?
Not too long ago deluxes were just below $10 for a long time. A 70% increase in the last few years for a deluxe is a bit much even if they have been a few dollars above retail.
Wow 17$ thank god i purchased mine off HTS for about 9.50$ a piece.
It is because they are semi-exclusive. I remember the Animated exclusives being $15 when the regular animated toys were $12
I bought several today BOGO at $13.99 each in store.
This is what happens when factories in the far east charge more and the price of oil goes up.
Hasbro will either downsize figures again or they'll shift production. If they start using eastern Europe or even the US for production within the next few years would not be surprised in the slightest.
They've already been charging more money for smaller figures ever since the DOTM line, so I don't see how they could really downsize the figures any more considering how stupid small they've currently become.
As far as I'm concerned, people who have been collecting Classics-verse should be nervous about what this could mean for new figures in 2012. The smaller sized DOTM line figures really screwed movie collectors who were trying to maintain a semblance of size, so the same could happen to Classics-verse collectors. At least with the TFP stuff, the change didn't happen midway - they're all smaller than usual out of the gate.
This. The mark up is just TRU taking advantage of semi exclusive stock. They are the only brick and mortar store with them. As someone mentioned the TRU Animated deluxes that were exclusives were 15 a pop. And frankly if the price does go up so be it. As many others have mentioned in many other price threads US prices are being kept artificially low by the major retailers.
Also i do not have any problem with the new deluxe size. I mean yeah they are smaller and i am not completely used to the new size yet but in fairness its not a bad size still so that part does not bother me in the least.
I was lucky enough to get Arcee and SS for 13.99 each. Even that price is a bit of a stretch...
£15 seems about right, it's what we pay in the UK so I'd expect it to stay that way for US fans too.
no ...they are gouging on that first release edition bullshit...basically a TRU exclusive without being declared a TRU exclusive....
countdown and skyfall were both the same way...several $$ over the normal retail ULTRA price rate at the time....
Wasn't Countdown an actual TRU Exclusive though?
yeah and what did my post say?
TRU in the last several years has gouged in the price category on every exclusive and niche product that they carry...so this is not really a price hike...it is just TRU sqeezing more $$$ out of customers...
the prime first edition is carried only at TRU retail brick and mortar stores...just does not carry exclusive at TRU stickers on it...
HTS has "first edition" arcee and Bee for $13.99
bought both last week.
They were still 13.99 at the local TRU. Buy one get one free made them a pretty good deal.
