While the design for Bumblebee is influenced by the movie design, the show itself is an all new continuity itself. The description of the prequel comic proves it, imo.

My current suspicion is that TF: Prime is to Movieverse

... As WFC is to G1.

In other words, I think it could be a Cybertron-based 'prequel' of sorts.

... it could also loosely pick up where Animatd left off, but moving things more in the direction of the movieverse, such that it could be considered(in the loosest possible sense) as part sequel, part prequel. Not that I'm expecting that, by any stretch. It would be a very remote possibility at best.

So we'll just have to wait and see. It's probably just going to be its own self-contained thing.

I think that TF: Prime is its own continuity. It just takes influences from Bayformers.

I had to vote Movieverse. Until we know more, I'm sticking with my theory that this will be a prequel series taking place in the distant past of the first movie. Or, alternately, it will take place post-ROTF (so they can work in the Hunt for the Decepticons toys & characters) with heavy flashbacks to pre-TF1.

It's either movieverse or newverse. How anybody can think that it's WFC is beyond me.

I think it'll be its own continuity. I'm also pretty sure that it'll be set on Earth and that this comic book prequel will end with them leaving for Earth.

What he said. Why would they go a completely different direction, art-wise, if this was linked to WFC?

It does look more like the live-action movies given Bumblebee’s design, but isn’t its own thing?

I'm inclined to agree. I think it's going to really be its own self-contained continuity, but give off a strong Movie-verse-prequel vibe.

I'm already calling that no matter what it really is, Tomy-Takara will present Prime as the sequel to Animated, following Animated being the prequel to the movies, and none of it making any real sense. :)

Based on what BB looks like, and who the writers are, and that the Movieverse is on its way to movie #3, I am thinking that this is Movie-verse.

But in a way like the Ghostbusters cartoon was. They needed the 1st movie to exist, and then split off into its own continuity.

But this sure as heck isn't WFC.

I misread the poll questions, but there's been a lot of talk about WFC being a prequel to TF: Prime. There's really no way to tell until more information is released. The design definitely seems like a combo of Bayformers and ANimated, though.

Given what we have so far my gut feeling is that it's a cartoon version of the movie-verse. The cartoon might start out on Cybertron just like G1 did, but looking at the full picture of Bumblebee it looks like they are going to Earth with the series. I'm sure the humor will more kid appropriate, but the pessimist in me is saying weak Decepticons and all that the movies offer up.

I just don't see War for Cybertron and Transformers Prime being connected.

Kind of too bad that the cartoon isn't War for Cybertron since the trailers have looked rather epic and new universe opens up so much for what they could do with War for Cybertron Transformers. Just doesn't jump out at me that Transformers Prime can be epic if it has to follow the rules of the movie universe.

I really don't know how anyone can think it's WfC when we've seen the Bumblebees from both continuities, and they're completely different.
