Also, I'm sitting near the panel room and as I type this, Paul Eiding just shouted "Optimus" in Colonel Campbell's voice. Awesome!

Huh. Interesting that they're planning to be done with DotM by December. I'd assumed the line would continue on into 2012 a ways. I guess they're either really confident in Prime or facing a slowed demand for movie stuff.

Also, in b4 "zomg no Mirage evar!!11!"

I pressed them for info, they basically said it's in the plans but couldn't confirm anything. We'll get him I am sure of it.

Dude. 2012? It's bad enough, having the line continue on till December.

Uh, they said DOTM will end by March 2012, not December.

Wow, end of 2011? They really arent putting much product out for this movie, especially considering how little is due between now and autumn.

I actually don't care much either way. I'm a Classics collector and odds are I'm not going to be buying anything else this year apart from the Devastator reissue (unless I get real lucky and find Warpath somewhere). I'm mostly just surprised after the RotF line ran for the better part of two years in one form or another.

    I can read:

That's still somewhat disappointing, as a big movieverse fan (who will also definitely be collecting "Prime"), I wish Hasbro would end the trilogy with a bit more "oomph", this is underwhelming, unless of course Hasbro is squeezing in a bunch of gems in their last two months.... HFTD brought so many great figures and it's a shame that they don't seem to want to repeat that now post-DOTM....

Full product line out by December, it'll have run its course by March. So you'll not see any more after March, but all there is to own is going to be on the shelves by the year's end, but shops will be restocking into 2012.

Unless that just means the DOTM title. They could revamp it like HFTD or something.

Wow...DOTM is ending near my birthday...Please have a HFTD-like subline, there's so much more Hasbro could do with the movies...

So, all the new stuff we saw at SDCC for Prime - were those the 'first edition' figs that will be out in December or is some of that slated for later?

Thank you for clearing this up!!! I'm surprised they aren't going to milk DOTM with sublines after the main movie line like they did for the first 2 movies... You'd think with mechtech they would have a ton of repaints with weapon mix-and-matching going on.

I am a tad sick of the movie aesthetic though... We've seen the 'movie-look' non-stop since '05!!! Primus-dammit! At least with RID and the Unicron trillogy they changed aesthetics every 18 months!!! We're ready for something new!!!!

I think only the figures physically present are first edition. The stuff that we're only seen in pictures are probably not first edition.

Nevermind Mirage, with HA Soundwave not due til Nov, i'm having my abouts about HA Topspin.

We have?...and in fairness to them, they have turned out some toys in the last year that aren't so overtly movieish.

As long as they can squeeze out a spectacular movie screen accurate Leader-class Megatron figure a la Starscream from HFTD, I'll be happy. Megs deserves a decent Leader mold for a change.

As for Prime, I can wait a little bit longer. The show will continue on for more than one season, I'm sure, and gives the engineers time to come up with more awesome molds. Just look at Deluxe Starscream!
