The playability of mine has increased dramatically after doing the Pledge with Future trick on those wimpy heels. Mine stands much better now.

You know a figure is good when he looks amazing just standing there.

Pledge Future Floor Polish is practically my best friend now. Soooo useful for fixing loose joints.

I just steal clear nail polish from my wife - even coats works great for me.

Here's my RiD Soundwave that I picked up at a nearby Tesco. Same dissatisfactions as almost everyone else, knee articulation and the stooping neck.

I apologise for the bad pictures, the 2MP camera on my phone is the only camera I have.

For the knees, I cut off the kibble-spikes on the back of the knees, and also shaved off a bit of the grey-bits. The resulting articulation is good enough for me.

For the neck, I cut a small piece off a leftover polycap sprue to fit in the gap, but not put all the way flush to the bottom so that it forms a slot for the neck tab to rest in. This does not impede the hatch's position in robot-mode nor alt-mode.

The kibble-spike was glued together, and magnetised to the screws in the knees.

I don't know anything about Evangelion, but I have seen the "angel" (bad dude?) figures and agree a couple of them look a lot like Soundwave and Starscream.

Somewhat OT: Is the Prime aesthetic adopted from Evangelion?

Not even close. All Evas share a very lean, organic build and details.

Soundwave and Starscream vaguely resemble them, and maybe the Vehicons, but that's about it.

Soundwave and Starscream vaguely resemble them on a purely coincidental basis.

Starscream, only due to his lithe body frame and hunched posture, which is more symptomatic of embodying the "weaselly schemer" archetype, rather than being an EVA reference.

Soundwave has his thin-ness going on because he's a freakin' ghost.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have the Arms Micron version of Soundwave? I'm curious to see the Micron interaction with Soundwave.

I work at Kinokuniya Bookstore in NYC, and we'll be getting several arms micron deluxes and maybe an Optimus. I think SW will be in there too.

    Soundwave

Seing as how soundwave only comes with Laserbeak would it be plausable to use Laserbeak as a laser gun?

If you can imagine it, you can do it. :)

Also, you guys all suck. Here I was telling myself I wasn't gonna want this guy, and now I'm practically frothing at the pants to open it.

I finally found him today after taking a quick look at toys while getting grocery's. As usual, a bunch of wave 1 and 2 and one Soundwave, the first I'd ever found. Unfortunately, he was $17. I gave in and bought it. He's a really nice figure, looks very creepy, very show accurate, but I probobly would have enjoyed him more for $13-14.

I paid something in the vicinity of $17 for mine, although I've forgotten the exact price. I've since seen one at Walmart, but paying the extra money to get it a couple months earlier was worth it to me.
