Yeah, the eyes actually look pretty creepy painted in.

Just went back & watched a few episodes & noticed you missed a detail everyone else does too...

The ENTIRE skyline of the bike is solid black in the show - no really, check it out...

    The gas tank:

and the seat - all the way back...

Those are some great reference pics there. Thanks for that. I'll have to use them for my personal figure.

As for the comments on the eyes you can blame the mold. I'd rather paint the eyes than have dead, light piped eyes. But then it brings out the super neutral expression on her face. That's one thing I preferred about the FE, the face was more expressive.

Hmmm... not sure if I can get the same paint brands around these parts... lotsa Tamiya where I'm at... might need to start experimenting...
Thanx for the paint breakdown! XD will go hunting, and I hope my Arcee turns out as great as yours! ;)

I buy my paints at Hobby Lobby. Do a Google search to see if you have one nearby.

Best place to buy them unless you have a hobby location near you. Prices are fairly cheap as well. Paints go on very smooth

It's the least I could do - her eyes were bugging me (just the cornea), as was the blue neck. 10 minutes later with a Sharpie (I kept messing up, it's hard to paint something tiny with a tiny Sharpie end - while staring towards a flashlight...) now she looks MILES better!

If ya need anymore - just ask, I probably have every good shot of her in the series run already capped.

That blue really looks like its not even painted on. Ridiculously smooth job man. Mad props. I'm torn as to whether to get this to replace my FE one. Each mold certainly has its pros and cons.

Wow, incredible that you hand brushed that blue! Usually when I use the model master metallics from Testors they cover very poorly with a brush. What's your trick? do you thin them alot and do several coats, or brush straight out of the bottle? I know that a good brush makes a difference, but wow...I don't see nary a brush stroke in your blues!

    Very nice job.

p.s. I try to help others as well, but I do tend to take my figures apart completely and when I start describing pin removal and masking or setting up my airbrush they get bored and wander off LOL!

A good CLEAN brush is key. I don't think I thinned this bottle but yeah, lots of thin layers works best.
