    Hi all -

I'm a member from Hisstank.com over here visiting. :)  My two 4 year olds are HUGE TF fans, and they LOVE the Dinobots.

I've seen the larger sized Grimlock form the new animated series in the stores, are there any other Dinobots available in this size form this series?

I've seen the smaller like 4" ones of some of the other Dinobots, but those are a little to small for them, as I got them a OP and MT, and they didn't do so well with those. Hence why I was looking for the little bit larger sized ones.

    Thanks!

    Eric :)

    Hi,

The Dinobots are Grimlock, Snarl and Swoop.

Grimlock is the only boxed one, he's a Voyager Class.

Snarl and Swoop are both Deluxes, so they're part of the carded releases. They're smaller than Grimlock but I assure you no less fun :)

Grimmys a Voyager and the other 2 Dinobots are Delux size. Those are the only ones available.

I think it works pretty well considering Grimlock seems bigger in the show.

As much as I like the deluxe classics Grimlock, I think the design and size of the Animated one is far better. Grimlock should always be a Voyager class, imo.

Yeah, I had seen the smaller, carded GL, but was looking for something bigger than him.

So the other two are only available in the animated series as the two carded ones?

Problem is a need TWO different Dinobots, as the boys are twins. :(

I figure something out, I had seen a larger more kid like version of the animated Bumblebee (I don't even think he transforms, just noises and sounds?) maybe I'll grab him and the big GL for them?

    Thanks guys -

    Eric :)

I think you mean this one. You probably won't have too much trouble finding him, I still see a few in most of the stores I've visited recently.

I'd recommend most of the other Voyager class figures if available. I was particularly impressed with Lugnut and Bulkhead.

Well, there is a repaint of Grimlock coming out soon. Im not sure if it is going to be in early 2010 or right before Christmas (may be too late if you are getting them Christmas Presents). It would give them each similar figures that are somewhat unique.

If you end up going away from the Dinos, you may consider Leader Bulkhead or Megatron. They are pretty sturdy for the little ones to play with, and someone may be able to point you to somewhere that has them on clearance for $20. Just put the small pieces in a ziplock bag before they are lost forever (not many of them to lose).

There's two versions of activators grimlock. A lot smaller then you're looking for, but they'd be very easy for your kiddos to transform. They're spring loaded so they kinda pop-up into robot mode

If you want two big dinobots, I'd say grab one regular Grimlock now, and grab the gold/black repaint coming out at the end of the year as well.

I;m not going to lie to you, Swoop falls apart and snarl is sub-par. They are both fun to play with/have but If you want your kids to have fun with a toy for a ling time then get them that BB you saw.

They have two, the first is Cyberspeed
Bumblebee (Cyber Speed) - Transformers Animated - Transformers Resources
and the second is a repaint of it called Street Patrol
Bumblebee (Street Patrol) - Transformers Animated - Transformers Resources
Considering how you have twins I would get this considering how it's the same toy twice with a bit variety.

If you want something that will actually "transform" get them the bumper bots, they made tons of these and they can beat the crap out of them without them breaking. Here's the BB one for an example Bumblebee - Animated Bumper Battlers - Transformers Resources

Personally as a collector I hate both of these but as a toy for a kid they are superb.

i love my snarl and swoop, they look great together with grimlock, and i guess i got lucky with swoop, never falls apart, and using the actual transformation for snarl (not the one the instructions say) makes him a great figure

Disagree respectfully, but I kinda understand that they would be kinda difficult for kids. Especially with Snarl corrects Transform. Surprisingly, Grimlocks the easiest!
