I'm thinking close to midnight showing. They did that for Pirates too didn't they?

They do midnight showings for all the big movies so showings at, say, 11:50 or midnight wouldn't surprise me. Bay's idea of a July 3rd opening we heard about a while ago is a moronic idea after every commercial, toy, and scrap of merch was tagged with 7.4.7.

Yup, it's now officially moved up. Sucks for me as I wanted to go to the first midnight showing, but now I can't because of that annoying thing called a job. Nice to know all that "7-4-7" crap was worthless too. If I had known they were planning on pulling this shit, I would have taken the damn day off.

I think it's great that people can see it early. But I think it's ass for people, like me, who were building up to the July 4th opening. I planned on seeing it at least 3 times opening day. That's all shot to hell and kills any possibility, even if it was slim, of this movie breaking any opening day records of any kind. Opening a huge potential blockbuster on a Tuesday is really moronic. Why not just open the movie on June 30th and at least have it on a more movie-friendly day?

There was definitely something that felt special about the July 4 opening, so I'm sorry to see the change from that respect (as well as the way it nullifies the "7-4-7" labelling that's on just about everything).

Still, if it helps pick up a few extra dollars before HP swoops in for the kill, I can see the rationale behind the decision.

It's only special for Yanks. To me all 7/4/7 is 12 days till my birthday. :throw  And Tuesday is the best day of the week for movie viewing. Cheaper ticket price, less people, cleaner theatre.

It's a way to get one more day for box office take for the opening weekend.

    SPOILER not really, just guessing...

My bet is Bumblebee dies in the movie and then comes back as the "new" Camaro via the Allspark. Just guessing from what I got from the trailers. Total speculation. :drunk

Well it all depends on the theater. Some might not even have a midnight showing and some will show it much earlier than midnight. The place I saw Pirates at had showing from the morning till all day the next day on atleast 2 or more screens.
