Megatron didn't die, he CLEARLY had a conversation with Unicron. It's most likely that with his damages he would've died eventually. But still he never died in the movie

    In cut scenes:

Mirage with a potentially fatal attack by Megatron.

Red Alert shot in the back by Scavenger.

Huffer - In the season three episode "Dark Awakening," Huffer is listed among the war fatalities.

Smokescreen - original storyboards featured Smokescreen's dead body in place of Wheeljack's

Beachcomber is briefly seen at one point in the movie, preceding Spike on a conveyor line of robots that are about to be dropped into Unicron's stomach acid. We all know what happens to the bots before Jazz and the other 4 guys.

Trailbreaker corpse lying around in orginal scenes.

Dirge and Ramjet probably shouldn't count, as they're both seen again several times in season 3. Just assume that the jets destroyed fighting Unicron were more generic Seekers.

Likewise, I wouldn't count Shockwave's death, as it was scripted, but not actually put into the final movie.

Well, one could argue that he ceased existing to become Galvatron, so in a way Megatron did die.

Wounded but not killed right. In the Victory Series Wheeljack transfers the mind of God Ginrai into Victory Leo.

IIRC that's because Japan didn't get TFTM till later. Hence why even Headmasters has g1 characters that died in the movie

Huffer and Brawn didn't die! Seriously, check out "Carnage in C-Minor"; theres one brief scene where they're stand around shooting at.. something.. with the Constructicons :lol . Ah, one of the many mistakes that made that episode so bad it hurts.

Wheeljack, Beachcomber, Dirge and Ramjet didn't die in the movie. Dirge and Ramjet died in FFOD, when Ultra Magnus punched them, they exploded, never to bee seen again. Beachcomber was in FFOD when the mini-bots attacked a newly built Trypticon.

I still think Unicron kept him alive. Megatron becomes louder and more animate just before changing to Galvatron.

But he still ceases to exists after that scene. So he does in fact die, but is reborn into Galvatron, a new robot with Megatron's memories.

But don't forget that when Octane is in the cript, he acknowledges Dirges marker.

Ghost in the Machine, sorry- wrong "hey Starscream is a ghost" episode. Anyways, Dirge and Thrust were both in it, getting yelled at by Galvatron.

Edit: watched "Starscream's Ghost" again too, for good measure, and its Thundercracker whom Octane acknowledges, not Dirge.

I think it might be Thundercracker's grave he acknowledges.... but I could be wrong.
