    Ok this is a challenge.

I was at my comic shop and a guy came in and asked the owner if he had any old Transformers. He didn't. Guy mentions he is looking for them for his son and was looking for metal ones his son wanted. He thinks they are G1 (I think he might be thinking Titanium). But the guy mentioned he had bought his son "A voice activated Transformer" That you talk into a head set.

Now for the life of me I have no clue what that could be. I think the guy bought something he thinks is a transformer but isn't. That or it is very recent and he is clueless.

Now was there a Voice Activated Transformer?

I don't think so. Maybe Ultimate Bee. I think he had some kind of voice activation/recognition feature.

Maybe he mistakenly thought Activators were voice activated...

Or maybe he was thinking also of Robo-Q which are actually remote controlled...

Assuming the guy was mis-informed about it being an actual Transformer, could it be one of these:

In The 80s - Toys of the Eighties, TOMY Omnibot

In The 80s - Toys of the Eighties, TOMY Verbot

I have a memory of a motorized blue robot that transformed on it's own, and was thinking it was voice activated, but might have just been remote control. It was just some abstract blue 'tank'/attack vehicle. With the motor, it could move in vehicle mode, or transform(sorta just the top half of the vehicle folding up to be a torso/arms), and then still roll in robot mode. Maybe could also shoot a couple missiles on command(voice or remote). Can't remember what it was called at all, but it was just like some one-off toy, not from a line. I swear I remember TV commercials and seeing it in a Sears or JC Penney Christmas catalog. Was searching on that 80s toys website for it, but couldn't find anything.
