Sunstreaker [Biography]: His upper torso construction incorporates a tough polymer-steel skin, making him particularly resistant to artillery fire. Crankcase [Biography]: His titanium-steel alloy armor is resistant to all explosive shells having yields of ten megatons or less. Outback [Biography]: He is impervious to most artillery fire. Unicron [Biography]: The size of a large planet, Unicron derives sustenance from munching planets, moons, and even stars, thus making him larger and increasing both his power and his appetite. Wreck-Gar [Biography]: Wreck-Gar is the leader of the Junkions, and like his people, is a creature comprised of rusted scraps, dented odds and ends, chassis bits, and manifold parts - a walking, very powerful and all but indestructible Junkbot, i.e., a robot of junk. Goldbug [JAP Tech Specs]: Can endure temperatures from -150 to 180 degrees centigrade. Goldbug [Biography]: He has a peak efficiency operating range from -150 to +180 degrees Fahrenheit... Although stronger than he had been as Bumblebee, Goldbug is still one of the physically weakest of the Autobots. Artfire [JAP Tech Specs]: Very strong, even in intense heat; he can withstand temperatures of up to 8,00 degrees C. Hot Spot [Biography]: A special vanadium-steel alloy shields him from temperatures of up to 5000 degrees Fahrenheit. Warpath [Biography]: His thick vanadium-steel armor can withstand all but the toughest blows. Tentakil [Biography]: In weapons mode, he turns into twin 50,000 volt lightning rifles, which can operate on land and sea. He is insulated from any electrical attacks himself, so the rifles can't electrocute him underwater. Motormaster [Biography]: He doesn't care - he knows nothing on wheels can survive a collision with him, except, perhaps, Autobot Leader Optimus Prime - and Motormaster would give you an argument on that... In truck mode, Motormaster is virtually unstoppable. At his top speed of 140 mph, he can ram a 20 foot-thick block of concrete and crumble it without cracking a headlight. Black Zarak [JAP Tech Specs]: His size is smaller than before, but his weight is heavier. Does he hold a black hole within him? Landmine [Biography]: Because of the hostile environments Landmine often has to work in, exposed to cosmic gales, meteorite rain and the like, his shell is constructed of a high-density Cybertronic alloy, resistant to all but the most severe conditions. The suit has full life-support systems to assist motor functions in high gravity. Because of its construction, the shell is impervious to most armaments. Astrotrain [Biography]: If he carries an extra fuel supply, he can leave his orbit and is capable of true space travel, boosting his speed to 50,000 mph. He would be able to travel from the Earth to the Moon and back, but not much more...As a space shuttle his communications systems often fail him and he must be wary of burning up while re-entering the atmosphere. Blast-Off [Biography]: Blast Off has trouble re-entering the Earth's atmosphere. His heat shielding often cracks and fails, exposing him to potentially lethal damage. He is also relatively vulnerable to most forms of artillery. Bonecrusher [Biography]: His thick titanium-steel hide makes him virtually invulnerable to anything that might collapse upon him as a result of one of his charges. Ramhorn [Biography]: In jet form, Ramjet has a nose module that can absorb and withstand an impact with a 3 foot-thick concrete wall at a speed of 1500 mph. The rest of his form is not quite as durable, but is still very resistant to impact. Ramhorn is relatively vulnerable to a variety of electromagnetic jamming. Such an attack can severely reduce his mobility or even freeze him while in rhinoceros mode. Cosmos [Biography]: As a spacecraft, Cosmos can achieve Earth orbit and, with enough fuel, can reach escape velocity and go for relatively short jaunts - the Moon and back, for example. (This implies atmospheric reentry) Ramjet [Biography]: In jet form, Ramjet has a nose module that can absorb and withstand an impact with a 3 foot-thick concrete wall at a speed of 1500 mph. Dead End [Biography]: Sometimes he can be so listless and depressed that it takes a direct hit with a cluster bomb to spur him to fight. When that happens, he's usually no longer in any condition for battle. Divebomb [Biography]: Divebomb's internal guidance system is easily thrown off by magnetism. Such interference causes him to lose control while he's flying and makes him prone to crashing. Galvatron [Biography]: Through the powers of Unicron, Galvatron's own powers are augmented continuously so that his strength becomes so vast that his arrogance and confidence are boundless. As long as Unicron exists, Galvatron is invincible, but Galvatron's conceit and greed for dominance are so great he even plots against Unicron and hopes to retain his new might without him. Override [Biography]: In cycle mode Override is equipped with an armored, reinforced windshield that is made of a special diamond-plastic alloy, which can withstand all explosive and energy beam weapons fire. Brawl [Biography]: Brawl possesses enormous strength and is resistant to most conventional artillery. Snarl [Biography]: His heavily armored hide makes him resistant to most missile fire. Sludge [Biography]: Only a handful of his comrades can match his immense strength and endurance. His armored hide can withstand all but the most powerful blasts... Sludge is often victim to the calamities he causes. Often his fellow Autobots must dig him out of the rubble he's brought down upon himself. Bruticus [Biography]: His armor is impervious to most artillery and radiation. Sky Lynx [Biography]: In all modes, he has great strength and is impervious to all but the most powerful energy beam weapons and artillery. Superion [Biography]: Although incredibly strong and resistant to most artillery and beam weapons, he does have certain "pressure points" - areas of structural weakness where one component Aerialbot connects to the next - that are particularly vulnerable to attack. Brawn [Biography]: His endurance and resistance to artillery fire are among the highest of the Autobots... Brawn is very vulnerable to attack by electromagnetic and other types of waves. Broadside [Biography]: His titanium-steel hull and deck protects him from most artillery fire, but he's vulnerable to high-energy beam weapons. Scattershot [Biography]: More than any single ability, Scattershot is known for his stamina. He'll continue fighting even after his joints are wracked by metal fatigue. Sandstorm [Biography]: Although extremely maneuverable in helicopter mode, Sandstorm is also extremely fragile. Even a small explosion near his rotor assembly can cause him to crash. Rumble [Biography]: Rumble's small size severely limits his strength; he can be easily beaten by most of the Autobots in any sort of physical struggle or artillery barrage. Scoop [Biography]: Scoop can transform into a power shovel ground vehicle. Composed of a super-alloy devised by Quickmix, the shovel is impervious to all weapons fire short of a small nuclear explosion and is often used as a shield. Skalor [Biography]: His heavy armor allows him to function at any depth. (This implies surviving 108.6 MPa and 0-3 Celsius) Gulf [JAP Tech Specs]: Is the only Seacon who can dive in the deepest of oceans, enabling them to search for oil fields on the sea bed. (This implies surviving 108.6 MPa and 0-3 Celsius) Turtlar [JAP Tech Specs]: He can withstand the force of a hydrogen bomb. Snaptrap [Biography]: In tortoise mode, Snaptrap is nearly impervious to weapons-fire. Durabyllium-steel alloy armor shields his body... The armor plates on Snaptrap's underside in tortoise mode are relatively thin. Designed to facilitate his ability to float and maneuver in the water, they also leave him vulnerable to attacks from below. Luckily for Snaptrap, few of his enemies - and even fewer of his so-called "friends" - are aware of this weakness. King Poseidon [JAP Tech Specs]: Turtlar's tech specs insinuate King Poseidon can survive a hydrogen bomb with at least Turtlar surviving. Piranacon [Biography]: He is fully operational up to a depth of 30,000 feet below sea level. Finback [Tech Specs]: External, pressure-sensitive shell enables him to dive to a depth of 30,000 feet. Specially-reinforced scale armor is composed of "living" mecha-organisms that regenerate spontaneously to protect inner circuitry. Longtooth [Tech Specs]: Specially reinforced ecto-suit can withstand underwater depths up to 300 feet. Splashdown [Tech Specs]: Outer shell composed of high-density armor impervious to corrosive liquids and strong enough to withstand underwater depths of over 30,000 feet. Squeezeplay [Biography]: At home on land or deep underwater, Squeezeplay is an expert at deep-sea sabotage, able to resist vast ocean pressures. Metalhawk [JAP Tech Specs]: In jet mode, can travel from Earth to the Moon and back in 15 minutes. (This implies atmospheric reentry) Great Shot [JAP Tech Specs]: Can travel between the Earth and Moon in under 2 minutes. (This implies atmospheric reentry) Galaxy Shuttle [JAP Tech Specs]: This giant Transformer carries warriors to and from Earth and other planets. (This implies atmospheric reentry) Yokuryu [JAP Tech Specs]: He flies so fast, his wings ignite so he looks like a fiery phoenix. Drillhorn [JAP Tech Specs]: Burrowing rapidly through the ground, he channels fiery magma to bodily strike the enemy. Thanks to the tough armour of which he's so proud, he remains unharmed. Fireroad [JAP Tech Specs]: He can withstand surface temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Shuttler [CR Tech Specs]: He is capable of breaking out of the atmosphere on his own, and is supremely heat resistant. Nucleon Quest Super Convoy [JAP Tech Specs]: In order for him to extract super-energy "Nucleon" that exists in black holes, his entire structure is now protected by a phase-modulation shield. He can now carry out activity in super gravatic environments. Grotusque [Biography]: As a result, he tends to go into battle in his more vulnerable robot mode, leaving himself more exposed to possible injury. Also, Grotusque's wings are quite fragile and are easily damaged. Hardhead [Biography]: He's impervious to most armor-piercing artillery and is resistant to most thermal and electromagnetic beam weapons... Although resistant to most exterior fire, Hardhead often suffers internal injuries from the recoil of his own weapons. Octane [Biography]: In tanker truck mode, Octane is generally heavily armored to protect himself and his fuel tank. However, he is extremely vulnerable to a hit from below the tank. Slugslinger [Biography]: After flying to his maximum altitude, Slugslinger often re-enters the lower atmosphere too quickly, and begins burning up as a result. Battletrap [Biography]: Neither vehicle is especially rugged or weapons-fire-resistant. Swoop [Biography]: Although he's extremely maneuverable and has great endurance due to low fuel consumption, Swoop is vulnerable to enemy firepower due to the relatively fragile nature of his wings. Swindle [Biography]: Although his exterior is fairly well armored, a direct hit on his unprotected and open dashboard can easily disable him. Spinister [Biography]: Spinister's rotor blades are prone to stress fractures after 12,000 miles of continued use. The blades require a vigilant maintenance schedule to avoid inflight failure. Blades [Biography]: In helicopter mode, Blades is ineffective in winds of more than 40 mph, and is liable to crash in winds of more than 60 mph. His rotor blades are prone to metal stress fractures if not checked after every 5,000 miles of usage. Bumblebee [Biography]: Bumblebee is physically the weakest of the Autobots, and the most easily damaged. Ratbat [Biography]: Ratbat's wings are his most vulnerable part. They offer little resistance to artillery fire. This is just what I've gathered from Japanese Tech Specs and biographies from The Transformers Universe entries from G1. I'd like to get examples of low-end and high-end durability feats from fellow fans. I'll include everything from G1/Beast Wars to the Unicron Trilogy and so on. But I'd especially like to focus on the G1 cartoon and comics. Feats can include comic/manga scans, statements and official data/information from guidebooks, authors or Hasbro/Takara. For cartoon series' clips or summaries of feats work too. G1 Cartoon G1 Marvel (including UK, G2) G1 Dreamwave G1 IDW Beast Wars (including Machines) G1 JP Continuity Car Robots Micron Legend/Superlink Galaxy Force Movie Universe Animated Prime And anything else.... The reasons I would prefer to focus on G1 first are that it has got the most fiction, likely the best feats outside of Galaxy Force or Alternity, and being first in conception I'd like to start from the beginning. For the G1 cartoon I can think of a few feats- More Than Meets The Eye 3: Optimus Prime gets shot by the Decepticon ship's cannon, survives reentry from above the stratosphere, and shrugs off uncontrollably crashing into the Earth with no visible damage. A Plague Of Insecticons: Megatron gets a giant oil tanker thrown at him by Optimus and it doesn't phase him. Heavy Metal War: The Decepticons (Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Reflector, Soundwave and the Constructicons all survive being submerged in lava. Countdown To Extinction 3: Megatron survives being at ground zero of a *planet-moving* explosion that knocked Cybertron out of Earth's orbit, floating away with only a few cracks in his armor. The Transformers The Movie: Unicron survives the detonation of Moon base 2 without a scratch. The Five Faces Of Darkness 2: Galvatron survives a plasma bath which despite driving him insane apparently made him "more powerful than ever." G1 Marvel Megatron isn't phased after 15 minutes of everything to US Army has. Shockwave survives being sent flying by Megatron's fusion cannon. Megatron takes everything the Dinobots can throw at him at once. Megatron gets swatted by Omega Supreme. Megatron survives a sneak attack from the Predacons and a Shockwave-guided Predaking. Then survives a destroyed space bridge. Galvatron I takes Megatron's Fusion Cannon. Tracks, Smokescreen, Ironhide, and Jetfire do nothing to Galvatron I. Galvatron I resists Ultra Magnus' attacks. Galvatron I is unphased by Centurion. After surviving reentry, Galvatron I only got disoriented. Galvatron I resists Blaster's electro-scrambler. The Dinobots do nothing to Galvatron I. Ultra Magnus and Galvatron I both survive lava. Shockwave survives burning up on reentry. Megatron takes everything Cobra can throw at him while already damaged. G1 IDW Optimus Prime gets hit by a truck and doesn't budge an inch. Megatron effortlessly swats a jet, and isn't phased at all by the explosion. Megatron goes toe to toe with Devastator, taking every blow. This is IDW Devastator btw, who also is unphased by human weaponry. Sixshot's armor is made from metals drawn from the compacted subatomic matter of a collapsed star. He endures everything the Autobots can throw at him, even Optimus Prime. Sixshot survives getting stepped on by Metroplex. Megatron resists D-Void. In his new body, Megatron walks off a kinetic harpoon. Nexus Prime not only survives a star meltdown but absorbs the excess energy.
