I just got Cybertron Snarl. When I insert the key into the back of his head it doesn't lock like it does on the key gimmicks found on other Cybertron figures. Is Snarl's key supposed to lock like the others or is mine broken?

Nope, your's is not broken. It's actually pretty much common to all of them. I think there was a trick though to keep it locked, but I can't quite remember. Actually, I believe there was another thread on this board that dealt with this problem...

I think I remember reading something about the ears locking it into place...like if you rotate the ears, it locks the jaw into place.

yep, the blue tufts on the sides of the head, BELOW the ears, when you have the mouth open, rotate those all the way down, then the key will stay in, or you can even remove the key and the mouth stays open.

Yours aint broke, like RL said. The idea behind this gimmick was so the cyb line had a rapid finger tapping gimmick like Beast machines Strika for example.
