    Researching the "organization" and who runs it, along with who funds it, I'm sure they'll be finding TONS of things that cause pollution and global warming - cable boxes are just the beginning.

    And that's all I'll say without getting an infraction ;)

    but if it has DVR and you are recording things it is being used. I could rant about this crap, but I don't have the energy, time, nor do I want an infraction..

    They've got a point in that there's a ton of common sub-appliances and electric devices that don't immediately come to mind, but who consume a considerable amount of juice over a given period of time.

    If you ain't using it often, unplug it and save yourself some money.
