What's the lastest on the release of this season? Are they going to produce it? If not, anyone know why?

Mostly not, due to Cartoon Network still owning it.

I've said this many times, but I fuckin' hate CN. Those assholes should just sell the rights to the show so we can get season 3 or a complete series release and possibly a fourth season(probably wouldn't happen anyway, but I can dream can't I).

I don't think CN owns Animated. Hasn't Hasbro already stated that they own Animated outright?

Cartoon Network owns not one iota of TFA. Which makes Hasbro's reluctance to pick up where they left off all the more inexplicable.

Not really. It's just not in their interests to do so. I'm guessing they made much more money out of the movies and now Prime too to worry about what a small group of us think of Animated.

I love TFA as much as the next person (unless that next person doesn't love it of course!) but if I try to look at it from Hasbro's point of view, it's just irrelevant in that context.

Well, even though I would have rather they continued with Animated... I do understand the change. There was a pretty big gap between when Animated Season 3 ended and waiting for DOTM to clear. Starting a new channel, a new show does make sense.

Other than the slight cartoony style (worked into TF Prime) and Bulkhead's character (possibly some others down the line).. I think Hasbro is trying to forget Animated ever happened.

Yeah, so new news huh? :)  That still sucks then. I know I can find them if I want to watch them but man, I want to finish the collection.

Derrick J Wyatt actually said that on twitter. Given the fact that he's Derrick J Wyatt, I'm going to say he knows what he's talking about, and Hasbro owns it completely.

if we can get the Gi Joe Dic episodes I have a feeling that we may end up getting animated season 3 through Shout as well..

I'm sure it will happen someday. But I wouldn't hold my breath. The Hasbro panel was asked this question point blank at Botcon last year. At the time they had no plans to get Animated season 3 on DVD.

Hate to say this but unless CN lets go of the copyright the chances of Season 3 of TFA being released on DVD are a million to one. I'm not saying it won't happen but it may take a VERY long time.

As already stated multiple times in the topic, CN does not own TFA.

Okay I was wrong but still it'll probably take a very long time for Season 3 to have a DVD...

I apologize Cartoon Network. I thought I had heard somewhere that CN owned the rights to the show. In that case, Damn you Hasbro!!!!

I suspect Hasbro will hold back Animated until TF Prime is a wild success. Because I'm sure Shout! would be interested in TFA, more so than say Japanese G1 or DIC GI Joe.

I'm not worried though. It will happen in 2-3 years I'm sure. Shout! (or who ever has the licence at the time) will release a complete series boxset.
