Derrick Wyatt has responded back to us with answers to the questions submitted by the good people at the Transformers Animated Livejournal community! We had a pretty good crop of questions, and Derrick gave us some even better answers:

"We get to see some of how the military Elite Guard interacts with the civilian Autobot High Council"

    I really like that part.

Interesting..Glad that we'll have more histories explored. The autobot high council will be neat to see. I wonder who will be on it.

Also, the 6 month thing intrigues me to no end.

Does that mean that they make all episodes at the same time with various teams working together on each chapter? Because that's the only way I see the production taking less tha n 7 years.

Good interview. Best thing to come out of it, imo, is confirmation of there being an Autobot High Council in the Animated universe.

As far as I know this timeframe is quite typical for cartoons. Each department that works on each part of the episode will do one episode then start on the next, meanwhile that first episode will then go on through other production departments. So overall one episode will take 6 months but the overall production time for each season might be 9 months to a year since each department might only need a few weeks each to do one episode.

Looks like he got GaoGaiGar and Goldran mixed up. Captain Shark is pretty cool though.

Good interview. We are lucky to have people like Derrick Wyatt and Marty Isenberg on TF Animated. That show is in good hands. I intend to enjoy every minute of it while it lasts.

He's only seen two episodes of GaoGaiGar? Wow. :p  Anyway, this is great. New characters are always a plus (though we've pretty much known that for a while now). I REALLY hope Wreck-Gar makes a return. He DARES to be stupid!

Awesome! He answered my question. A shame he hasn't had the chance to watch much Masterforce, Victory, or Brave.

Since you can contact him, send him this link. YouTube - Vachidra's Channel Vachidra has nearly every Brave transformation scene uploaded to youtube. I think he'll get a big kick out of it.

Thanks for setting up this Q&A. :D

AWESOME NEWS!!! thats really nice of Derrick to answer this stuff-thanks man!

as for the Autobot High Council, that sounds pretty sweet to me. my guess for Bots in it are Dai Atlas, Alpha Trion, and Grandus, as they're all names we've heard mention of. would be cool to see them as the Congress and Magnus sorta like President (Supreme Commander=Commander in Chief?)

I really dont think that analogy fits UM is the highest military authority while the council represents the civilian governing body (perhaps with Alpha Trion being the head of the council).

I'm really impressed with this little revelation, partly because Hasbro saw the potential in the idea and how cool it was but mostly because they did such a good job of making the toy show accurate even though it was never designed to be a toy.
