Hey everyone..

Not really so much 'fan art', since I'm using official pictures here..I'm working on redrawing the leaked Animated human forms of Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Bulkhead in vectors.

This allows me to create much bigger, crisp-quality pictures of the characters, and by coloring them I'm trying to mimick the official art.



Prime and Ratchet are done, currently working on Bumblebee (skin color isn't finalized, not sure if he would look better caucasian or black).

Tell me what you think!

love your work! id suggest leaving bumblebee's skin color as it is. looks good that way.

I think Bumblebee should match SARI's skin color to be honest.

this way there is at least one minority character also I'd make his shorts black or a very very dark grey so at least it will break up that yellow a bit more.

and because prime is the main hero type he should be tanned more.  

Ratchet needs a couple liver spots for a tad more realism

I agree with Bumblebee in that they shouldn't all be white, it's boring, and I think out of the characters Bumblebee would be the one with a darker skin. Still messing around with what looks good for me.

As you can see I already changed his shorts to a darker yellow. I'm really looking at their bot modes to see what color should go where, in Bumblebee's case all signs point to yellow, but having an all-bright-yellow suit doesn't look right. I doubt the black or dark grey though: his pants have much details that would go to waste if indeed they are meant to be dark. I'll get back on this.

I disagree with Prime and Ratchet though..I like Prime right now with the default skin color (or Fanzone's color, actually). I feel he would be the most 'neutral' out of all characters, with a blueish tint hair (ala Superman). As for liver spots on old man Ratchet, I think Animated's style is too stylistic for those kinds of details.

These are awesome! Though I think Bumblebee would work a little better if the bill of his hat was black to fix the yellow on yellow thing. (though nice job on making his hair a different sort of yellow   )

 

here's my BB I spent all morning coloring.

Hopefully seeing a visual example will show ya that he really does look awesome with more black, I tried to give him more of a tanned skin tone but didn't like how it looked so I stuck with a more flesh based tone instead.

I do think you took some liberties with coloring him. The arms and pants look cool, but you gave it some extra patterns/stripes I believe would have been visible in the original lineart if it was intended like that.

Still, I think yours beats mine out of the water, so kudos to you!

Here's mine by the way, I just finished it, keeping both colors for now.

Bumblebee's darker skin version looks better AND references his voice actor!

 

That's awesome! I can't wait to see bulkhead. For some reason, I imagine him as a red head with a whole bunch of freckles...

y'know... I could totally see that; and I think prowl would be a lean asian (but more Brandon than Bruce Lee) or a David Carradine look...

Making him older though would explain his independence & silent nature...

 

My thoughts as well.

 

Unfortunately though, Prowl's human form is his policeman hologram.   Which does make a bit sense, since Prowl's robot mode has alot of elements of a motorcycle policeman anyway..  

 

Didn't realize these were already established forms until I read others' reactions...

Too bad they didn't lean more towards the ninja aspect - makes Prowl seem less noble & more a "loose cannon", but not in a good way...

As much as I like Bee as a Ginger Kid, I gotta agree with that he looks better as a Black Kid. Although, he was Count Dracubot and as we all know, courtesy of one Eric Cartman, Ginger Kids are Day-Walkers. But then I could site The Simpsons with 'Blackula'.

I really wish they had drawn Ratchet in his Grampa Shorts. The man should be wearing Grampa Shorts! And have navy tattoos. And smell of Old Spice.

 

Prime is supposed to be "young", right?

Pretty cool. So... is there a chance of seeing a human counterpart of Animated Prowl?
