I got to play the new DS game for about 15 minutes last night. Got through the first level and the beginning of the second level. For a DS title it looks great with nice animation an character models. The parts that I played focused much more on problem solving than combat with you trying to move Prime, Bulkhead & Bumblebee through a training area while using their various skills. Bumblebee can power up elevators and various other things as well as do a sort of ninja jump up corridors. Bulkhead can destroy barriers and move heavy objects. Prime can throw his ax and climb scaffolding with his grapple hook. It was very fun but if you're not to much in to games that rely heavily on using the touch pad (which I certainly don't like) you may not like it because there are many actions where you have to use the touch pad to accomplish certain tasks. Comes out on 10/26 for anyone who didn't know.
Do you happen to know who the bosses are? Where did you play it at? I hope Prowl is available for those missions and not just the racing missons.
Where did you play it? Is it available at download stations? I hate "Forced" use of the touch pad (Zelda anyone), but I don't mind creative uses of it: Hotel "whatever" and Final Fantasy Revant Wings.
I played it at a special Activision promotion they did for my department at work. I didn't get to any boss battles and Prowl was not a selectable character up to the point I was able to play.
Sounds like my kind of game... can't wait for it to come out! Thanks for letting us know when it'll be out!
Not until much closer to the game launching. You'd be surprised at just how little access most retailers get to most videogames before they actually launch. At best we get the previews & promotional materials a few weeks earlier than the public and rarely do we get to play them ahead of time.
Heh, I bought a DS when they released the Autobots and Decepticons games for that. But yeah, if you wanna play the Animated game, better get one... you won't be disappointed, I'm sure.
I guess Ratchet in this game sits on a chair and gives you directions... Random thought: I wish the dinobots were playable...
