When the series started I wasn't much of a fan of it.
Saw a few early episodes and I stopped watching the show after that, 'cause I just wasn't interested enough to keep tuning in. Never saw another episode until last night when I gave animated a second chance. :)  I was stunned how good season 3 episodes are. I watched a few more today and I must admit the show is really growing on me. Wonder if the same will happen with TF: Prime, LOL! :D

Transformers Animated left us too soon :(  It's the second best series of Transformers EVER behind only Beast Wars.

    I miss it so much.

Also disappointed that on my bootleg of Season 3, the third to last, or fourth to last episode won't play. :(

C'mon, just release it to official DVD (and rerelease the first two seasons)! I'll buy it!

Like a lot of older fans, I saw the character designs and art style being planned before the series came out and immediately started complaining. Then, I remembered: "Hey, this is exactly how I reacted when Beast Wars came out." Not wanting to make the same stupid mistake twice, I decided to give it a chance, and sure enough, Animated was GREAT.

I do miss it, but I enjoy Prime as well. If I had to make a choice between us getting Animated season 4, or us getting Prime season 1 as we have, I'm not sure which way I'd go. Luckily, it's not up to me, so I don't have to choose. I do hope Prime expands the universe of their story the way Animated did in the second and third seasons.

It was kinda similar for me. I had a negative first impression (not hard with that terrible early art of Optimus that they keep using for some reason), but as it went I wasn't sure what my problem was. TFA combined two things I liked: cartoon stylization and Transformers, so at least in theory I had no reason to dislike it. Later preview stuff made me happier, and I knew I would like the series at the "where babies come from" moment in the pilot.

Agreed. I like both Prime and Animated in very different ways, and I wouldn't want to sacrifice Prime just to get more Animated. For me, Animated had a good run and had enough of an end to satisfy me (not every thread was tied up, but Megatron and his main bunch were defeated). I'm more disappointed we didn't get more Animated toys; There were so many good characters and visual designs that didn't get realized in plastic.

Still in a sense would have wanted more Animated then Prime.

Atleast their we had a fresh new Optimus Prime and a Bumblebee that spoke and was a real charecter.

Although Animated was taken from us too soon, at least we got a pretty awesome ending.

"Death is the easy way out Megatron, you don't deserve it!"

Now that's how you write an Optimus Prime!

Agreed. We also got to actually see some character growth and development on a level not seen since Beast Wars. I got a kick out of seeing Optimus actually grow into the role of badass leader.

And had Animated season 3 went up, we would see just how well that idea would turn out.

I agree it left too soon, and I might agree if you said it was the best addition to happen to the franchise next to Beast Wars.

But without G1, there would be nothing. Including Beast Wars. Including Animated. Not to mention that so much of what is good in both of those things is built on G1, either through story continuation, or through direct homage.

Aaaaand? We know all of that. We're gathered here in this thread to mourn Animated, not to state the obvious.

Funny thing, I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this recently. Glad we have somewhere to share our love for this awesome series, hopefully with immunity from the haters.

There is not one thing I would change about Animated... well except for how short its lifespan was. Yeah I know that 3 series is a good run out for a TF cartoon, but I just feel that there was SO much potential that will never get to be realised. At least we can say it went out at the top of its game, like all great shows should.

Shout out to Derek J Wyatt, Jim Sorenson, Bill Forster, Marty Isenberg and the rest of the gang for giving us so much joy. These guys really do care and I can't thank them enough.
