I've googled and ebayed until my eyes are sore. Is there any way that I can get the add-on wings/armor without buying a $50 copy of a toy I already own?

No. The crystal version is so pretty it demands you buy it regardless.

On a more serious note, have you tried putting a 'Wants' ad in the Junkion Exchange? You might luck out.

That was my next step. I just can't see that many people on TFW wanting to get rid of the wings. I'll try it, though.

What irritates me is that I just recently got an Animated Prime from ebay like two weeks ago for $13. If I'd have thought about it, I would have just bought Wingblade Prime instead.

To be fair, the crystal version is a nice alternative to the normal version of Prime.

And I honestly doubt anybody wants to get rid of just the wings\gloves\hammer.

True, but I hate buying copies of stuff I already own.

That was my assumption. That's why I didn't bother posting in the B/S/T section.

I think you're better off buying the full Wingblade Prime and then selling the crystal Prime to someone as a standalone, to recoup part of the cost. You won't find many people willing to part with just the accessories, but I bet there are some folks who would be up for buying the bare figure just to have a nice clear Prime.

Ever thought about buying the Wingblade Prime and just selling off the Crystal Prime? I'd imagine there are some fans who are obsessed with transluscent versions of toys who'd take that off your hands for a reasonable price.

^This may be what I end up doing. I have to say, though, given that the wings and such are shiny, it would probably look better with Takara's other voyager Prime (TA-01).

So...$50 for Wingblade Prime, $40 for TA-01, then sell off my incomplete American Prime and the clear Prime...maybe a 2-pack for $50? I'm thinking too hard about this. :)

That's the path I would pursue. There are clear Optimus/clear Transformer collectors who may be looking for that still as a standalone.

Though it may not suit the purposes of your collection, the clear Optimus from the Wingblade toy is quite nice on its own and hardly a "duplicate" of either the Hasbro Voyager or the Takara release.

I bought an extra Hasbro Voyager to sport the Wingblade armor and though the Wingblade parts are shiny, it looks fine to me despite the Hasbro toy's matte finish. Though I also own TA-01 I've never bothered to try the Wingblade armor on the Takara Optimus.

Honestly you far more likely to find the figure san wings, hammer and gauntlets then just the add on parts as like you many people want those for the figures they already have.

The Wingblade parts are awesome and are worth the $40. The clear Prime is just a nice bonus.

Damn, I really need to "invest" in a TA-01. Just doesn't pop enough under the Hasbro Voyager.
