I don't know if anyone else saw it, but last Saturday (March 28), Network Ten aired the first part of Transwarped. Well, some of it.

Having played through all the episodes last year, lately they've been airing re-runs of Animated on Saturday mornings, but have been butchering them. A 20-minute episode (without adverts) has been airing in 14 minutes... that is, 14 minutes INCLUDING ads. Basically, they've been hacking large chunks out of it so that they can get back to their inane presenters.

That was fine(-ish) for the re-runs, as they had already played them (mostly) complete, albeit with a habit of snipping out a few seconds here, a few there, trimming the episodes down by about a minute or two.

But the first airing of season 3 episodes are now almost unrecognizable as something in the order of 10 minutes, once you ignore at least 2 commercial breaks. I had thought that maybe they were carving the 3 episodes up into 6, but no. As far as they're concerned, they've played Transwarped Part 1.

Why you would ever watch the free-to-air broadcast and *not* watch a torrent or YouTube video of the episode, I can't fathom.

Wow...I didn't know this happens. That's pretty horrible!! :lol  Sure, let's cut out a part of the cartoon, who cares if the plot makes zero sense now, it has colors and moves, the kids will eat this shit right up!

Unfortunately, Ten is the Only Game in Town for free-to-air kids shows since Seven abandoned their kids shows years ago. Hasbro doesn't like it either.

Ten specialises in cutting to commercials mid-sentence. GO YOU CANADIAN-OWNED ALLEGEDLY-AUSTRALIAN REALITY TV SHOW FACTORY PRETENDING TO BE A TELEVISION NETWORK!

ya thats a pretty bogus situation for a broadcaster to put their viewers in, at least the ones with the means to watch the shows somewhere else. Not as if these folks who'll now come to boards on the internet going will just say the best of these networks. A snip here and there is practical for any show for any broadcaster, but to hack a show down to its bare essentials, well, just not right. i bet any viewer of Lost or Heroes would have a shitfit if that got chopped down to 20 minutes. hell im barely a viewer but id still be upset. Either way in teh end of all this id love to see how badly they butcher this if you can find one of these episodes on the internet

Unfortunately, they've been doing this ever since Cybetron. About the time when Cheese TV turned into Toasted TV actually. Still, it's pretty amazing we're getting Season 3 only a few weeks after it began in America.

thats on? wow, and toasted is way worse then cheese ever was, atleast cheesetv had watchable presenters compared to the utter rubbish as the toasted presenters are. i think the toasted guys only get kids around them cos they hang out at dream world and sea world. channel ten probably cares more about the money they get out of advertisements for those places then the cartoons it shows.

Sadly this is the exact reason why I torrent and then buy the DVDs later. Also Ten is like the propaganda broadcast channel of the devil, it's the free to air channel I despise the most.

Ugh. I was watching 'A Fistful of Energon' a while ago and it goes like this:

    Starscream blows up Prowl's ship
    Add
Prowl is in his samurai armor and rolling out with Lockdown.
    WTF?

I stopped watching Toasted TV years ago... cunningly about the time I got a job after long-term unemployment... thank god I did, those two are no Cheez TV presenters... taken off air for being too crass :p  Most of the people watching that show were adults :p

Yeah, i'm used to being half a year later than anyone else on this whole damn planet. :D  We still have Toasted TV, it just sucks and has no good stuff. They've rerun One Piece and Naruto so many times i lost count past 6 each. Dammit, Toasted TV, stop :horse: . Especially when it's the same dead horse over and over again. *rant*

QFT. And it tasted better too. :thumb

Can't let those cartoons people tune in for get in the way of the adverts and presenters people don't tune in for. That'd just be plain crazy.
I'd hate to be subjected to a television station like that. Then again, ITV here dropped an entire episode of Pushing Daisies because they wanted the first series to end before the football series started (if memory serves they'd bought an eight episode series to air in a seven week slot). Thankfully people complained so much that ITV put the missing episode up on their website for people to watch. Of course, they bragged it was an extra special 'lost' episode, like they were treating us to something special by sticking it up online.
Always gotta remember the veiwers really aren't their customers - the advertisers are.
