Bumping this thread with some new gameplay videos. It's seriously looking fantastic! Lili is looking insanely BEAST in enclosed areas, because that 1+2 has SUCH a carry that it can wallsplat from damned near across the screen on some stages! And the Kuma/Panda combos... I'm not even going to comment... just check the damage.

As per usual, the game is looking extreeeeemely balanced, but I'm getting pretty confused on the lifebar system. In Tekken Tag 1, if a combo was a tag combo, the damage from it wasn't able to be recovered. That doesn't SEEM to be the case in this one though.

 

That is looking soooo good. I still wish you could keep on after one of your characters die but, oh well.

Now the pondering starts....Xbox 360 or PS3......decisions, decisions.

 

i abused my copy of TTT with friends in high school and middle school ( i honestly forget its original release date, so part of that statement might be impossible). I eagerly await a second one to play when i can during grad school

I'm getting it on PS3. The T6 comminity on XBL was inseanely weak compared to the PS3 community. I'm sure they'll both be good ports though.

 

Damn, I used to love playing TTT back in the days. The character intros before the fights where awsesome, when is this going to be release on consoles?

 

No exact date set for consoles. Japanese arcades have had it since September, but console release in unconfirmed: Deinfitely 2012 though.

After playing Prologue, the part that's REALLY going to take some getting used is the timing for the combo extension tagging when you do it manual. It's hard to know exactly when you start controlling the original character again.

I wish that Namco would borrow a little bit from successful franchises like Street Fighter, and realize that adding 7 more hits to combos every game isn't an "awesome update". Even Tekken 6 was borderlining "a bit much" with the bound system (double bounding with floor break), but this is getting kinda' batty, even for a fanboy like me.

Anyway, Namco's announced the pre-order bonus for the console version's release in Septermber. 4 DLC characters: Michelle, Kunimitsu, Human Ogre, and Angel.

Now before anyone loses their mind and goes on an anti-DLC tirade, the pre-order DLC characters will also be unlockable via the game FOR FREE. Pre-ordering just gets you a code to download the usual 100kb unlock key for immediate access to the DLC characters.

BTW, anybody know what the story is on this Angel character? Never even heard of her before this announcement and now I'm curious.

 

She was a playable character in tekken 2 if I remember correctly and I think she had some connection to Devil Kazuya.

Not really hate, but her character being in this is pretty much just fan service. In useage percentages for TT and TTT, she was literally the least used character in the game by far. The thing is, though, that fans still complained when she wasn't included in further games like she was some top tier or uber popular character.

A prime example of the fandom bitching about something just to bitch, and now that she's in TTT2, unless her gameplay's changed dramatically, she still won't be played, and then bitched about when she's not in T7.

It's like fans bitching about the lack of Jun Kazama even though was pretty much her gameplay on steroids.

Even as a huge Tekken fanboy and player, I'll admit that Tekken fans are pretty fucking ridiculous and just annoying as shit.
