here's Nosecone! he was made from an E.stormcloud, E. shockblast's treads, E. duststorm's head, and the drill was from an old Braves combiner. EDIT: Finished
Sweet dude! maybe i should try some figure modding to make my nosecone look more interesting. I do have a spare strongarm. maybe i'll mod him and my old nosecone together to make a new nosecone!
go for it, this is a one of a kind project for me, I could make 1000 dev's but this guy is a chore, yet fun the whole way. when all 5 combine, I get all jumpy like a kid at xmas. i am working on Computron AND predaking right now, and I can barely contain myself.
man this is turing out really great! i like how Nosecone's Alt. mode looks pretty Drilly =P lol Id use the same idea except i dont wanna take mii Sixshot or Shockblast out of there boxes! lol Cant wait to see Predaking aswell!
ALPHAMAGNUS, you did and hell of great job making Nosecone. I mean..damn..just look at it..its totally mind-blowing. Of how you use those parts to make it..wow that is "thinking outside the box type of creativity" here. So once again awesome work.
MM's honest opinion: -Requested by no one, read by nearly the same number of people Overall this is a very good bash. The paint looks nice and you've maintained the look in both modes of the original G1 toy, while giving it the articulation it deserves. Question is there a combiner limb mode pic? Critiques: Robot Mode: The tank treads on the arms in robot mode look too kibbly and for me throws off the proportions of the figure. In vehicle mode they work very well and complete the homage to the original toy. Given their size, I would have integrated the rear treads onto the lower legs. Vehicle Mode: If the rear tracks could slide in under the the vehicle it would make the vehicle mode look much more sleek and give the appearance that the treads are actually part of the vehicle and not hanging off the sides. Overall a very nice update to the original G1 toy. The choice of figures to make it from were very nice and fit together well. If there is a combiner mode for him, I'd love to see some pictures of it.
certainly, mind you this was taken awhile back, and alot of mods/ paint has been applied since. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff93/ALPHA_MAGNUS/TECHNOBOTS/100_1967.jpg
parts bot? if you mean some extra parts, yes. I haven't figured a good place to include the feet. the head and chest peice are a part of scattorshot, the arms are pure kibble, along with the feet. I am not afraid of partsforming, Ptitvite has shown us all that it makes for better bots. although i try to steer away from doing it too often. my predaking is fully integrated. and hope fully i can show it soon.
PARTSFORMER!!! That's the word I was looking for. I have no problem with partsformers what so ever esp when it comes to combiners.
good, partsforming is best kept for combiners. I dont like it too much for 1:1 bots. unless its armor. but thats another story. new pics btw
I really like this piece a lot, man. I think this is a great update to one of the members of a favorite combiner of mine Great work, man, great work
Wow, the new pics make a better impression. Nice MOD here, can't even tell who it was before. What are your plans for Scattershot Btw, it is an ongoing debate between Energon Jetfire, and Galaxy Force Starscream (Voyager) that rages in my head.
Love it. Hmmm...actually, with a different head and paint app, that exact same recipe could make for a potentially decent pre-Earth Beast Wars Inferno...
Oh nice. Is it just my imagination, or do the newer pics look like the rear treads are much closer to the vehicle body?
actually i went out of left field with scattorshot, he is BOTH energon jetfire AND energon ironhide. combined. not making 2 seperate bots mind you, it just works. you'll have to wait to see finished pics. and MM , yes some of the pics have different tread spacing. some dont even have the under-treads. for a slimmer look.
It has to be said that if there was gonna be one Technobot that was tough to make it was nosecone. However i think you nailed this guy perfectly. Look forward to seeing the rest of the crew.
