Thats right folks. Team SWAT makes it's return from Halo 2.
For this weekend only, it's on the double EXP hopper.

For those unfamiliar with team SWAT, Halopedia offers this information.
Bungie.net offers a shorter description, with info about the hopper itself.
Anyone playing this? Sounds like an intense game mode to play.

It's funny because I was just bemoaning how annoying I find the play style etc in Halo thanks to the shields and stuff. This sounds awesome in comparison.

If you like getting dropped in one shot by anybody...at all(one of my teammates decided to cap me too).

This was always my favorite gametype from Halo 2. I have never had a problem with the story arc being that the shields in the Halo universe are super advanced and stuff, but I would also think the weapons are too. The SWAT gametype just seems to level the playing field.

Well, played a few rounds this morning.
    Team SWAT kicks ass.

Nothing beats dropping a guy with one BR shot to the head. Its such a tense gametype, always wondering where the enemy will come from. Best bit of it all, nobody grenade spams!

If you're good at making headshots, which means you're more acurate, then this is the gametype for you. If you're more of a "wear 'em down" type, then play regular games.

Best mode they had in Halo 2, in which they should had made it normal for 3. Instead of a constant run and gun, you might have to think first, even maybe a little team co-operation. Even saying this, I will be on CoD4 instead of Halo 3 most likely the whole weekend.

Meh, I played this some last night, and it just reaffirmed my distaste for it. It seemed like everyone I faced was able to drop me in one shot, even across the map, while I had to freaking unload on someone to kill them. And no I'm not a poor aimer.

Case in point, was playing on The Pit and got the jump on someone and unloaded almost half a damn BR clip into his back(he was an Elite) and he doesn't die, then he just calmly turns around and drops me in one shot. I almost quit playing SWAT right then and there.

Later on, on a match on Guardian, I swear to god I spent the entire last half of the match spawning and instantly getting spawn killed. It had to be like 10+ kills straight. THAT made me quit playing Halo 3 altogether last night. And I relaxed with some Rock Band.

    ...and its down.

Bolded for interest. Bungie seems to have a knack of 'making it up' pretty well. Free maps coming early? Extra days on the weekend hopper?

    Any thoughts?

I'm guessing they'll just make the hopper longer, possibly for the rest of the week.

I wish they'd just add this to the list of gametypes and be done with it. Permanent Team SWAT would not suck.
