Korean PC Game Rips-Off Team Fortress 2 - Team Fortress 2 - Kotaku
I would relish these game developers being sued the hell out of.
I like how they basically say "It may look like TF2, it may sound like TF2, it may play like TF2......but it's not a rip-off of TF2."
That is just REALLY stupid.
I actually want to play this.
I'd play it if my PC wasnt a piece of shit.
The only people who've had anything positive to say about this in the TF2 community are the freaks who keep demanding female character models. Needless to say, its been the talk of the town on quite a few servers for the last 3 or so weeks.
Also, in before somebody says "its not THAT similar", a certain robot black painted class has one eye and fires pipes just like a certain black-Scottish-cyclops.

I have TF2, and after watching the video, it's not really that big of a deal. People are getting worked up about nothing. I think this looks fun.
i love this game, it has anime girls
Looks hawt to me, I would play a cute anime girl with a big bazooka any day!
Basically the minigun, demoman, and scout classes look TF2 inspired there, and the similarities seem to end there. Its like saying every FPS ever is a ripoff of Wolfestien 3D. Games borrow from each other.
And even if it is a blatant ripoff, so what? If the game is bad we get a good laugh and a new episode of the Angry Video Game Nerd in 40 years time. If the game is good then people are going to have a fun time.
Snipers + boobs - australian hat....WIN!!
Other than that = lose
Doesn't bother me that it's a rip if it plays well. And it's got anime chicks with guns, so I'll give it a try.
Watching the comparison video, it's like the only thing this game and TF2 have in common is the same tried and true weapons as all other shooting games and a few similar scenes in it's trailer video, which even those are debatable. Find me a shooting game nowadays that doesn't have a machine gun, heavy gatling gun, sniper rifle and rocket launcher, and you'll end up with a fairly "unique" game. There's nothing to sue over, these games are no more similar then every other "cartoony" shooter. The "outrage" over this "copy" is laughable at best. No one's getting sued, not even close.
Personally, my only problem with the new game is that it has too many girls. As a toy collector, I would think it would be much cooler to have a wider variety of "figures" to use besides anime dolls and overgrown Stick-fas. And if this game wants to really make the most of the idea, they'll come out with more then simple humanoid characters to use. Just imagine if they had a Godzilla like monster toy, a Transformer/macross like robot, a stuffed monkey toy and a samurai toy as playable characters. If you're going to use a toy concept behind a shooter, go with a bunch of different toys and really make it stand out.
