So, Soundwave, having never met any of the other Decepticons (other than a brief discussion with Megatron) was forced to use Decepticons from the memories of Optimus's crew in order to manifest this illusion of a Decepticon invasion. But, of course, there was the notable cameo of Team Chaar + Shockwave.

Bumblebee knew Longarm and the Autobot team saw the upper part of Shockwave's body minus the gun.

Prowl supposedely practiced Circuit-Su with Oil Slick and Ratchet met him in the first Cosmic Rust attack during the Great War.

Any theories on past encounters with Strika and Spittor?

I'd say that Optimus, being the academy bot he is, was taught about Megatron's legendary general and simply read up on Strika, but never actually met her.

Other option is Soundwave hacked the Elite Guard ship while it was on Earth. It seems like the sort of thing he'd do. It'd also explain why Starscream still had his body and wasn't reduced to a mere head. ;)

i was just wondering that-i like the theory about it being something Prime read up on, but instead of it being something involving the past, maybe when Sentinel showed up on earth Optimus got a look at some footage they had taken of the battle with Rodimus and the gang.

I think Soundwave or Laserbeak hacking the EG ship while it was on earth is a good theory. The Elite Guard may keep accounts of each attack during that whole Decepticon uprising, and during the events on earth when all 4 (Sentiel, Jazz and the Twins) Elite Guard members where out and about (chasing Wasp(Bumblebee) or fighting Lockdown), Soundwave and his minions could have made a move and took the data they need, because I'm also sure Soundwave never met the Seeker clones, Starscream, Blitzwing or Lugnut either.

Soundwave's core was created by megatron right? So megatron probably created some of his memory, including the images of his decepticons so that should he encounter any of them on earth he would know who to attack and who not to. Since megatron created soundwave before we saw the clones or the constructicons it makes sense that they would not be seen in this virtual reality.

or the Autobot database on earth got updated by the Elite guard ship and details on team charr was in there.

or the creators and writers ran out of decepticon characters beyond the cameo of team charr to fill in a massive con invasion.

Its just a flaw I think. Better to see the bots again rather than the bots from SW memory which = 0

Thinking too much about internal consistency causes old age.

it's just a little plot/animation error in an episode full of animation errors.

Though I guess you could say Megatron uploaded all these files and shit on these robots when he built Soundwave.

Maybe he was cropped. It happens somethings when they convert something from widescreen to fullscreen.

Hmmmm. This is one of those plot holes I could overlook since WE GOT TO SEE TEAM CHARR AGAIN!
(or at least 3/5 of it!)
(Well, 3/6 of it because, come on, Blackout counts as two!)

Well, Strika, being a top lieutenant, was probably known by a lot of Autobots who had been faced with war. (Ratchet, Prowl, etc.) Spittor... I don't know. We know too little about him to know.

    shock

The reason they had Shockwave in the episode is so that you could see him doing something cool, not in a dark com room or in a non combat setting.

All of the decepticons on team char could have just as easily been "new" like all the bots except Ratchet on Earth.

It never really says how many Decepticons were allowed to live or what was done with them after the Great War, to me it seems they all scattered without leadership.

It seems that they had no clue about Shockwave at all, I do not think they knew he even existed until he was "discovered" Ratchet have any knowledge of him.
