Just got these. Robot modes are not bad, very poseable with the liberal use of ball joints (which are just the right tightness). The gun modes are rubbish though. They are not so much transformers as they are extremely flexible humanoids. I suppose the other two figures in this set are better in this respect; you can clearly see the robot modes when these are transformed. Very unimaginative.

Comparison pics with Reveal The Shield Legends figures, because they are so close in size. The blocky design of the TFC figures is exposed, and this is where I think TFC can improve. The figures are essentially a series of cubes joined together. Legends figures are intentionally lacking in articulation, but you can tell that the level of engineering behind the official figures is far higher than that in the TFC ones.

For the price, it's hard to recommend these, as they are really small and don't have decent alt modes.

Its a unique idea, and they look ok. I just don't understand the point.

To me they look great. They're accurate to G1, but at the same time have their own unique by themselves. The guns are OK, but I can't justify the price point for these. Good review though, nice, clear pictures. :thumbs2:

Not worth the price? What are they running for these days? USD20 a piece?

Can you remove Optiaim's gun....and maybe have the Legends Prime hold it?

Do the gun modes use 5mm pegs or flat gun grips (like Blurr's rifle?)

I like them too much, especially Meg looks killer :)  Yes, the leaders as targetmasters is a weird concept but... I don't give it :D

I wish they sold them in singles, I only want Prime and Starscream.

    I got them for USD$37.

Yes, the gun can be removed, it's actually one of my favorite things about Optiaim (my least favorite has got to be the name). It's a mini version of the Masterpiece rifle. No, Legends Prime can't hold it, its hand is too big.

The gun modes have 5mm pegs. I forgot to mention, the set comes with a "Multi Weapon Module" that splits a 5mm peg into 2 5mm holes, so you can combine two guns.

If they were sold in singles I'd probably grab one, but the two packs make these more than I'd like to spend on something like this

Agree- these are cool, but just too expensive since they're sold in sets.
    Too bad, though.

I really want both the sets. Optimus and Megs more. I just find pose-able targetmaster-like things so much fun to fiddle with. But I really can't justify the price for how small they are. I would totally bite at $20 for a set though.

I think they're great looking. Too much for me to spent though.

The gun modes are as good as what we got with Minicons lately, except the individual figures are much better.

I think the gun modes look ok! If you're kind of... not looking for the bot mode.... sort of.... I know what I mean.

i'm with you man... i think these could be really cool if they were just random robots who turned into guns, but i don't need Optimus to turn into a gun... pass...

They don't look quite as good close up, and the Megatron colour scheme seems darker than initially previewed. Was considering purchasing these, but probably won't now, I'll stick to my cheaper and nicer looking Legends..

It's a very cool idea, but it fails to hold up IMO, and it's just not worth the price to me. I'd like to see this expanded on though, maybe TFC can learn from their mistakes.
