Hey all. I was wandering if anyone could recomend me some good Tank TF's and some good Helicopter TF's. I would go threw www.tfu.info, but it hasn't been working for a good while now, and www.seibertron.com would take me more time than I have to search to go threw. I'm looking for something that would make for a good kitbash, has decent possibility, and would make sense as an Autobot. I'm not currently looking to purchase anything as of yet, I'm just looking for suggestions of something to look for. Thanks to anybody who can help me. Edit: Fixed error, but, the sight still hasn't worked for a long time now.
Choppers : -G1 Whirl (a classic imo) -G1 Rotorstorm (best deco for that mold) -Energon Bulkhead or Energon Quickstrike -Cybertron Evac -Movie Blackout or Movie Evac Tank : -G1 Warpath (tiny but cool) -G1 Megatron (the big one with electronics, my favorite) -RM Reverse Convoy/Rebirth Megatron (Prime & Meg in the same figure!) -Micron Legend Megatron (I love hearing Megatron speaking Japanese) -Leader Brawl (you know why)
Dlx Brawl, Tankor (Universe or BM) and Energon Kickback (kinda small but still good) are the best Tankformers out right now. Look out for leader brawl. Special mention to Cyb. Unicron.
Thanks guys. I should have mentioned that I'm staying away from anything G1, as I want something that actually has some posability. I'm also mainly looking for a tank, and the helicopter is the back-up plan, lol. I would use Movie Brawl (deluxe or leader), but, it would be hard for me to get him to look like an Autobot (claws). I'm currently leaning towards Tankor. I'm still open to suggestions if anybody can think of any more.
Actually, the idea of a clawed badass Autobot really appeals to me. Damn you, now I have reason to buy yet ANOTHER leader Brawl. I'll probably end up with fifteen of the darned things.

Nice list, but, some of those aren't even helicopters or tanks, lol. I'm also not interested in anything G1(G2 also), due to lack of articulation. Here's my edited version of your list. Choppers: Cybertron Evac Armada/Energon Cyclonus Cybertron Buzzsaw Energon Bulkhead, Energon Quickstrike Energon Blackout Energon Stormcloud Tanks: Armada Megatron/Galvatron Cybertron Defense Scattorshot Beast Machines/Universe Tankorr Beast Machines Tank Drones Energon Blight Energon Kickback I might go with CD Scattorshot if I can find him, and swap out his head for something different.
CD Scattorshot is awesome, he is an excellent tank TF. The tanks from the Energon Bruticus team are excellent too. Great robot modes, you'd need to do something about the molded chest sigil for a Decepticon but it could be done.
Hey man, Even though you're looking for posability, I have to recommend G1 Blitzwing or even the E-Hobby repainted "Overcharge" as the colour scheme is far more realistic due to the Diaclone heritage. While Movie Blackout is one of my favourite toys at the moment, the remoulded figure "Evac" scheduled for a later release looks superb as well. All the best Maz
Hey. Thanks for your opinion on the matter. I was actualy just thinking about Blitzwing, and I'm going to wait to see what his Animated incarnation looks like. From what I know about the upcoming series, it'll basically be a better version of his G1, so that there will help with articulation. I'm also curious to what other alt-modes will be in the Animated, and then the Universe lines (Classics 2.0). I'm not 100% sure what alt-mode my character will have, so it might be a while before I decide on a mold to start of with.
I was at the Hasbro panel at BotCon and I have to say Blitzwing was one of the best-looking of the animated characters, he received a healthy round of applause! He's apparently going to have a split personality in the series as well to go with his triple-changing theme The Animated toys look superb I have to say judging by Prime and Bumblebee, I really like the look of them a great deal. Here's Overcharge/Blitzwing if you fancy a dabble: http://www.tf-1.com/articles/reissue_frame.php?art=Overcharge All the best Maz
Cool. I forget, did they show Universe (Classics 2.0) Octane at Botcon? I've been very interested in how he's going to turn out, lol. He's another one that I might concider for this project. I can honestly say that I've never seen that coloration of the Blitzwing mold before. The split personality thing might work well for my character.
Yes they did show Octane, but they were concept drawings not actual images of the toy as far as I can recall. That got a huge cheer as well, rightfully so, it looked amazing. And that green/cream Blitzwing is the first colour ever used on the mould when it came out in Japan as part of the Takara Diaclone toy line. Just about every KO of the mould has sported that colour scheme as well. The TF colour is the minority All the best Maz
