    The name "Miko" leans more towards a female lead since it does mean "shrine maiden" if we're going with the Japanese meaning. I don't know if "Miko" means anything in any other languages though.

    She was probably the best kid character since G1, but she was techno-organic..maybe that's why!!! :D

    I don't know how that's a surprise: Sue Blue doesn't do voice directing any other way.

    And Miko? Eh...it's gonna be hard to top Sari for unique human sidekick. Plus 'Miko' is a rather lazy name. They couldn't come up with something not quite as overused? Also, why Japanese?

    We just HAD a non-white kid character.

    Honestly, I'd be more impressed if she were Indonesian, like Tania, but I suppose that'd be too close to Sari.

    Is this the first main kid character we've had that was Japanese in a made-for-US Transformer show? Seems like it.

    awe thanks for proving my point, i was referring to the toyline.

    after all, the toyline IS what transformers is, and always has been, and always will be about. the tv series and movies, are nothing more then a toy commercial. :)

    besides, of course it is anime...

    anime = cartoons

    cartoons = transformers

    :p

    edit: and also, please don't insult me by quoting wiki, it is not a reliable source, by ANY means :lol

    How can you rip off something you created yourself?

    Is Optimus Prime a rip off of Optimus Prime and Optimus Prime?

    I am well aware of the fact that Transformers fiction are made to sell toys or to promote the franchise (except the movies since they weren't made specifically to sell toys). However, I think it is weak ground to base an argument to be so entirely dismissive of the fiction, which is a large reason why so many people in the 80s, 90s, 2000s got into Transformers and why so many continue to hang around :)  You can be aware of the transitionary nature of the fiction and Hasbro/TakaraTomy's limited attention span to maintaining fiction, but can still enjoy it.

    "[has] always been [Japanese]" can only really apply to the very first toys from 1984-85 where Hasbro had nothing to do with their design (aside from colour choices).

    Anime is the Japanese term of cartoons, but in the context of Transformers can only be applied to the Japanese-written and produced Transformers cartoons, not the American ones.

    The nerdy BotCon trivia contests and Animated production staff would disagree with you there.

    Or, you know, Spike... or Buster. Or Rad. Or Verity.

    On the scale of of TF-sidekick-kid names (assuming that's what this character is), "Miko" is pretty darn normal.

    Miko...... What about Sari. :(

    If there going to have a 12 year old in TF Prime, why not just add Sari.

    Oh well. I wonder what type of character Miko could be.

    Oh that's Friggin hilarious. :lolol  :lolol  :lolol

    Too early to really know what to think, but looks like we got a human female kid character. It's gonna be very hard to top how Animated pulled off Sari.

    While I'm optimistic about this new series... Damn you to hell, Cartoon Network, for killing Animated - the best TF series since Beast Machines and Wars. (Just going by what I've heard, it wasn't Hasbro or even Bay who dropped the axe).
