I was at a local Comic Shop that also sells transformers. I was talking to the main guy there, who is also a TF collector. So what he said flat out is that the brick and mortar stores in our area (NY) are not going to be carrying the RTS wave 2 and Generations stuff.

He said he had been talking to his Hasbro rep and he wasn't expecting anything for his store for about 2 months. On top of that, the Hasbro rep told him that the big chains were ordering the shit out of the Movie stuff, and that is what is going to be flooding the shelves.

So I guess the way to get these is either through collector shops or through Online stores for us East Coasters. Looks like the movie line is going to eat up any chance we have with RTS Wave 2 and Generations stuff.

I mean, take this for what it is worth. The guy is at a store that sells these things at a jacked up price. The only thing is, I don't see a reason why he would lie. He doesn't have them, so it's not like he was doing the hard sell.

Not at all surprising. The big retailers LOVE the movie figs. Requests for more movie figures is what caused Hasbro to delay Animated's toy line. I just hope the same doesn't happen to TFP's line. It's bad enough that the DotM line is already making it hard to find non-movie related stuff, and it's not even out yet (preview figure doesn't count).

Edit: Honestly, if it was just a delay in their release, rather than stores not releasing them at all, I'd be fine with the wait.

I figured as much. My area has been pretty recent in terms of Generations (I've actually seen Kup and Scourge a few times at retail), but RtS has been absent.

Thankfully, though, I got Prime, so all I need is Lugnut now and I'll be pretty much done with RtS.

Aside from Windcharger I've pretty much gotten all the stuff I wanted via online.

Hell, I don't even remember the last time I actually found and bought a figure from a Target/Walmart/TRU.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was before Christmas.

Good information; not surprising, but more confirmation, I guess.

Its good to hear that movie toys will clog the shelves as expected. THat means it will not have a shortage (at least the first wave), and possibly a good idea to wait for discounts.

I've suspected this for at least four weeks now, it looks like the big boxes love nearly empty pegs and hate money, when in reality they just don't want to clearance out a bunch of Chopsaws and Strafes.

Your best bet is going to do the online thingamabob and get whatever RTS/Generations you're still missing. Major retails are suckers for movie items, they love this stuff and they know it will sell too. I for sure won't be buying many movie toys... Other items are more important to cash out than movie toys. There's a ton of things that will be released this summer... FP, PE, etc.

I was wondering why you weren't updating the Transformers Sightings forum for VA. :lol

While I hope it's not what's really going on, I pretty much expected this. It's become the pattern for retailers and years with TF movies.

my thing i do is: pre-order@BBTS, it's a couple $ more but saves time and gas. then, if i find them in the stores just cancel the pre-order. sometimes the websites get them after the actual stores do.

I'm glad I put in the effort to track down preorders early for all the stuff I bought. Only one I missed was Windcharger but I should be able to get my hands on one soon enough.

Yeah. We talked to this one Toyrus employee who told us the same thing. They ordered tons of movie stuff so we may not see these waves for months. :thumbdown

Yeah. I stopped hitting the stores so I went quiet on the Sightings thread.

Every year there's a lull after Christmas at the stores which is why I normally switch over to full time online purchases until people find stuff at stores again. Normally from California where I used to live. :lol

I do believe there's usually another lull post summer.

But yeah, BBTS got a LOT of my money the past couple of months.

I've had RTS wave 2 since January and every Generations figure except Warpath, so what's the issue here?

Where did you get yours from, online or retail?

Their is no problem, it is more sharing of information. Some people still wait for brick and mortar stores. So I thought I would share the info.

    That's not an issue, that's a personal problem :D

(don't take my smugness too seriously, all the money I'm throwing away will probably come back to bite me in a few months :lol  )
