Do all first edition Transformer Prime toys need release dates?

Has Japan aired Transformers Prime yet? I was under the impression they were still going through Animated.

Well this confirms once and for all that Cliffjumper and the Vehicon are considered part of the preview wave.

But why is Megatron listed separately? There's also no deluxe Prime on the list.

    Huh?

    No they haven't
Probably why they dub the line 'TF Prime Preview'

Animated Japan is long over. It ended when United started. Which ended when DotM started. It's two lines old now.

Thanks very much for the clarification. When will Japan start airing Prime? It would be interesting to see how they'll handle Prime.

These are TAKARA'S versions, NOT Hasbro's. Takara probably doesn't have Prime in the first wave because..they are already doing a Voyager release. Megatron's Voyager toy has been well confirmed to be a later wave release. Cliffjumper and Vehicon are NOT part of Hasbro's wave 1 (that isn't to say they might not hit concurrently, but they aren't considered part of the first assortment which will be Bumblebee, Arcee, and Starscream)

No, Animated was pretty well wrapped up before they even got to Dark of the Moon toys. Remember, the show only had 39-ish episodes, and TakaraTomy only supported the line while the show was active. If toys are slated, then clearly TakaraTomy seem to have a release planned for the series, even if not announced. They might be waiting until closer to the toys release to announce anything.

Again, this only applies to the Japanese release of Transformers Prime product. Hasbro has already confirmed the first 3 waves of the line last summer at Botcon. As usual, Prime toys are slated to appear at the end of the year and will probably not reach saturation until after Christmas at North American retail.

And I think this is worth repeating since some clearly aren't "getting" what this information is:
This listing is for Takara/Tomy's release of Transformers Prime toys, and ONLY APPLIES TO JAPAN! Hasbro has already confirmed the loadout of the first 3 waves of product at Botcon.

no it doesn't, this is takaratomy not hasbro, their wave system is different than ours

only wave one of deluxes and voyagers and the entertainment two pack are gonna be released in the "preview wave" here

wave 2 and 3 are not gonna be released then, two cliffjumpers at the same time would confuse parents

    "Cleaning ear with pinky"

I'm totally aware about what Hasbro said at Botcon. I was asking Does every wave 1 of Transformers Prime need a released date, necessarily. Because where I'm from (besides movie figures) it seems that Transformer toys don't necessarily need a release date, they just come out on the shelf when they are here. Especially when my collector stores get Takara figures, it doesn't matter about release dates.

And the Japanese stuff will almost certainly be different with changed paint applications and/or packagaing. People go for Japanese versions over other releases so it's a big thing.

I look forward to watching them cut Prime short after 52 episodes ala TMNT and watching Japanese fans protest outside TakaraTomy's office again after 12 years.

Even if there's only one person, that'd be enough for me.

how, seriously, how, how would the first 3 WAVES of the toyline be a "preview" wave

seriously, cliffjumper is in wave 2, vehicon is in wave 3, ALONG WITH zombie cliffjumper

hasbro is not going to make it confusing for parents like that, there are chances wave 2 MIGHT show up early in stores around that time like how wave 2 of animated did, but there's no way in hell all 3 waves are the "first edition" wave

From what I understood from Hasbro at TFCon, the preview wave in December is JUST the three deluxes (BB, Arcee, Starscream) and the Megatron/Optimus two pack with the kids. The first wave of voyagers and wave 2 deluxes don't hit until March. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong on that, as I NEED that voyager Bulkhead and Prime.

I knew toys cost more in JP but $50 odd for a voyager? Ouch.
