I wish I could pre-order these in Japan. Sucks that all these overseas places have it for preorder but me being in Japan cant preorder it from a Japanese dealer ?

why they didnt do that for the SDCC set I do not know, Thats the one recolor that makes sense

exactly. That would have made the SDCC more attractive to buy, but instead they gave us a recolor that doesnt exist in any fiction what so ever.

 

Transformers LG-EX Headmaster Exclusive Set of 6 - Kapow Toys

£34.99 for six properly painted heads from Takara. I've not bought any of Hasbro's Titan Master figures since I don't care for their barely painted figures. I've also finally decided to buy Takara Brainstorm since the individual release was too expensive and I don't care to buy Sentinel Prime and Windblade. The individual release has the best colors IMO of the three and a more familiar head than Takara's anime accurate head which I don't care for.Thanks to the new six pack of heads, I get to have a Brainstorm with the preferred original toy styled head. Still not cheap but could have been worse. Any higher and I would have passed.

 

Plenty of opportunity for a second, and maybe a third set

Then there's a Minerva from Mindwipe and who knows what else..... Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime from Sentinel Prime?

 

The last three were the same mold TT used, right? So I don't see those happening... I can see the first five plus Hasbro's PMOP head being another set...

 

I'd rather see them from Diac or Ginrai.

 

There'd be some mileage in releasing them, in those colours.... I bought two extra Leaders to get all the versions of that head!

I'm not one of those people who bashes HasTak. This post is just an observation.

But this Headmaster set by Takara makes me think that Hasbro deliberately stopped painting the bodies of most if not all of their Titan Masters.

Hasbro leaving the paint off differentiates the two so that Takara has a market for their set.

Otherwise, this set would be pointless because I'm sure that the Asian and North American markets would just opt for Titans Return figures for the exclusive heads.

 

What am I looking at exactly?

 

That's a bit of a silly conspiracy theory.

Hasbro probably just stopped painting the Titanmasters so they could dedicate more paint to the larger robots. Not for TakaraTomy to sell some exclusive set at Cybertron Satellite stores.

 

Plus this set is color matched to the TT version of the robots.

 

No conspiracy theory intended. Just an honest observation on how the business practices of both companies possibly feed each other.
