Let’s drop the bw topic which is completely unrelated to the thread topic. I liked takara offering but sadly I couldn’t justify that much dough for a gun in the Titans return line.

 

I could justify for the additional Targetmasters...But not TakaTom taking away the default weapons for some characters like Topspin, Twin Twist & Doublecross/Twinferno.

 

I don't know. I'm assuming Takara's product is cheaper for them.

I was hoping that the slight increase in price between these and the first batch of takara deluxes meant that the deco was going to be different. While I'm happy that I'm going to save money, I wish we could've gotten these figures that are really good in cartoon decos.

 

God, no matter how many times it gets thumped into your head, you just don't get it do you?

Where, pray, would Japanese collectors be getting the Hasbro ones cheaper once shipping gets factored in? I'd sure like to know, so I could get them cheaper and faster here in Japan than TT's late releases.

I'll be the millionth person to say it, but seeing all of these unaltered from their Hasbro counterparts has pretty thoroughly dashed my hopes for a darker purple/maroon on Hun-Gurrr.
At least it means I don't have to wait ten thousand years to have Abominus all up in my collection.

 

Crap.

 

I'm also wondering why the wave 2 deluxes are $5 more than the wave 1 deluxe Jazz. I was hoping that there could be a chance it could be because there was some difference but now there is nothing to justify the price. As someone who always buys the Takara versions of the classic G! characters this is a big disappointment for me. God, I can't remember the last time I bought a Hasbro TF but I think it was when Alternators first appeared here and I hadn't turned to Binaltech. Whelp, help me Wal-Mart you are my only hope.

As I said before, simultaneously bummed and jubilant that the PotP line is unified. Less having to hunt specific figures (looking at you UW Ratchet)

One thing I'll point out, the pics of Volcanicus reveal the top of Sludge's beast head rotates around, which looks better than how the original reveal had it hanging fully extended from the knee.

You also can turn Snarl into a leg without having to open up the tail, which is a major improvement from the alternative. Instantly improves the overall look of the combiner.

 

This is actually one of, if not the worst picture of Volcanicus I have ever seen. The torso is so comically undersized that I now understand why Hasbro decided to plug extra fists in there. And the legs... ouch.

I probably still would've bought one if it had a sweet new coat of paint and a giant sword (plus weapons for the individuals of course) but this is just not good looking.

 

Money saved on no UW set will definitely go to both PE sets. Although I am still foolishly hoping for a TT mall exclusive somewhere down the line

 

That's why I'm thankful the Dinobots are not combiners - mine will never see combined form.
