I think (I hope) people are misunderstanding your post and focusing on the 'without a stand' comment. I totally agreed, the future of BW and indeed ALL MPs depends on great QC, good stability, and a solid/non-fiddly transformation that pegs/tabs in securely. That's what everyone one wants surely! It pretty much goes without saying. Now it would be nice if both modes can stand without the support of a stand (and in the case of Dinobot and Megatron I'm sure they will in certain poses at least) but where alt-mode isn't terribly stable due to it's shape, size, orientation or nature the sensible thing for TT to do is include a stand to support it.

My statement was more based on the fact that this appears to be something that contains a lot of moving parts with (potentially) a very complex transformation that requires many pieces to line up just right. This can work well (Sunstreaker) or poorly (MPM Optimus Prime)

The toyline launched before the TV show did, by quite a decent margin.

Are there any larger pics and a translation pf the transformation scheme posted from the Generations book? The one I saw on this thread was too small to make out the actual steps...

Hmm...So that's how it spins - there appears to be a button behind the spinning weapon

It also looks like it may be able to be locked into place so there isn't a weird button sticking out in beast mode.

With all the money they put into the figure, they should have just motorized the tail rather than doing the IMO silly glowing eyes. The Frumble 3P figures showed how a little motor can really add to the figure.

There's like, no room for a battery compartment there. Something like a motor would burn out your button cell batteries so damned fast, it'd just be a complete waste.

I for one would find a motorized tail more useless than light up eyes...

I disagree- take a look at some of the custom jobs done by posters on here and you can see how they cram electronics into really tiny places. The motor wouldn’t be running all the time. Turning it on for a couple of mins here and there won’t kill the batteries

LEDs have virtually no power draw. Motors are a completely different story, especially when spinning up a ~12" fan blade.

I'm sure someone will put a motor in the tail at some point, but I'm perfectly content with the gear spin if that is what the peg is for. If it's on a flywheel, it will spin fine.

I can finally see how close I was when I used my digibashed Dinobot to estimate his size.
I was being cautious and conservative at the time so as to pick what I thought would be the bare minimum acceptable size that I could stomach. At the time, I really didn’t believe TT would make him as big as he should be.
So let’s take a look: My bash

Hmm, ye he’s pretty big but by no means a giant.
    The reality-

Thank you TT; you did my hero justice and exceeded my expectations.

He's even taller than in your digibash. Also, I still have to LOL at that original prototype. I am so glad that TT decided to beef out the robot legs even if it meant sacrificing the back of the beast mode.
