I've got Soundwave coming just because at some point the hood on mine got cracked and that black tint is nicer than the original blue, but I'm pretty sure I still prefer my custom (painted all car parts silver). Some of the paint omissions do seem odd.

Were the speakers blue in the movie?

Guess you're right. Could've sworn that the speakers on his forearms were blue and shook when whenever he was talking. Still, the lack of an HA Laserbeak accessory seems like a glaring omission on this figure.

Can someone get a picture of the back end of Ratchet's vehicle mode to see if he still has the doors detailing like the DOTM one had?

He was one of the smallest of the line. A little bigger than large deluxes like battle blades bumblebee, but definitely moving that direction. He looks good with the other HA figures, but only barely.

He may be short but he's pretty wide and has a lot of upper body mass (making him top heavy). Reminds me of those gym guys who always skip leg day. :D

0228170237_HDR.jpg Not 0228170237_HDR.jpg 0228170236b_HDR.jpg too pleased with Soundwave. Mine has paint scuffs and chips from ONE transformation and getting worse with each subsequent one.

At $50.90 shipped from Japan, not a happy camper. Nice mold, but the paint doesn't hold up.

A real shame since this is probably the most accurate movie Soundwave made, color wise too.

    *sighs*

    EDIT: Here we go...

Hmm, I guess that's why the original Takara release and Hasbro Asia 2-pack Soundwaves had gray unpainted plastic to prevent this exact scenario. I'd imagine that it's the same reason why the new MP Megatron mold is largely gray and unpainted too.

You should never have to do this but a coating of gloss might help.

I customized mine years ago. I've only transformed him a couple times since, but I didn't have problems that serious and I have several layers of paint and gloss.

MP Megatron is painted in pearlescent grey. Similar to MP Ironhide's face.

Well, it remains to be seen if that will be the case with the final production version but all photos of the prototype we've seen so far look to be in that pearl grey paint.

Seeing how the recent MPs except Shockwave are almost fully painted, I'm quite confident Megatron will be too.

I hadn't thought of that. Good idea. I just don't know if I have the energy to do it. I mean, physically I do, but I don't know if I have the drive to do it.

Just so disappointed, it sucked the fun out of the room. Y'know?

Just got my Starscream today. Better than the tattoo one. Now if Only I can find a Megatron and Shockwave for the $50 USD price.
