Really man? Come on...a giant "fuck you"? Because they omitted a feature not designed for this figure in the first place? That eliminates a fan mode only moderately better than the official mode, which isn't even that stable to begin with? Yes, I do think it looks better, but flipping those legs up and they get all kinds of wobbly. And yes, they actually are more secure and structurally stable, I've got him in hand, and the lower legs are (were) completely solid because they are just a giant glued chunk of leg. Now, it's not like Metro's legs just flopped open, but they definitely opened easier than I thought they should for such a large figure. I'm not saying it was a brilliant move, but it's not like it was just some idiotic decision with no thought behind it. It's like complaining that TR PM Prime doesn't can't fit Minimus Ambus inside his chest properly, just because the figures share parts, doesn't mean they're supposed to function the same.

The only reason the legs even open in the first place is because they're a hold over Metroplex, simple as that. It's not like TT designed a feature specially for this figure then neutered it, or prevented it from transforming as it was intended too. Honestly, I'm surprised the legs were designed to eliminate the hinge altogether, replaced with a static panel instead.

I still like TT's better, as I just don't care for Hasbro's patchwork colors, plus of course the Mastersword and better sound effects. I'll take a more pleasing color scheme (regardless of any accuracy) and extra accessories over a hinge that isn't even needed for the figure.

Of course, all that said, I did want to see how hard it would be to free up those pegs. If I couldn't, no big deal, and I'd just move on. But it was easy enough to slide a blade in, cut the two pegs, and add in new ones:

So yeah, it does look better, but now its floppy. The hinges are super loose, and that huge leg panel just flips and flops back and forth unless you wedge it up against a corner. And the hips and knees, no matter which orientation you put them in, just aren't strong enough to hold the legs up perfectly straight. They normally bow out to the sides, or bend towards the front, so you have to be really careful and try and hope to get everything lined up just right so the towers don't lean, which is frustrating. It is clearly not the intended configuration, and while more visually appealing, almost isn't worth the effort to get it to look "right".

If Tamara really glued your Fort Max's legs together, you should probably dump her, man.

I might try heat to undo the legs. Not that I'm that fussed about alt modes. I just want the functionality if it can be had easily. If not, no big loss. It IS very strange though.

Outstanding pictures, as always. But am I the only one who sees the ridiculousness that those two figures cost approximately the same amount??

isn't MP10 around $150 and LG FM around $200 (in japan)?

Plus, MP10 comes with the trailer and all the accessories and has a MUCH higher level of engineering, fit and finish, and probably a similar if not higher parts count: doesn't actually seem that crazy.

Who am I kidding, I regret not preordering this guy and I'm just grasping at straws to make myself feel better.....

Hell no! I only bought soundwave cause in 2013 there wasn't many decepticon options. My OCD made me get the other two tapes. Fort Max on my mp shelf makes me feel like I robbed the dude I traded with

Does anyone know a place where I can still find him for $220 or less? BBTS is sold out so I'm having some issues in finding a good website to buy him from.

Protocol question: now that the toy is "out" should this thread be moved to the Toys forum (instead of News & Rumors)?
