I don't think he's especially rare, so much as there has not been a Encore, US, or Pre-Dreamwave reissue to drive the price down like some of the others.

Yup, it's the only time Blitzwing's been reissued. No US version, no previous Japanese convention exclusive, no random Japanese stand alone reissue and no subsequent Encore release. It didn't even see a "Classics" reissue in Europe like the other Decepticon triple changers (correct?).

The only other time the mold's been used is for the Overcharge Diaclone redeco from eHobby.

From what I can recall, it is the only time he has ever been reissued, plus he is a pretty sweet figure :)

I'm still looking for a reasonably priced one. Let me know if anyone wants to sell it!

Yeah, not especially rare, but it was the only reissue of the figure, and I think the last TFC bookstyle reissue in the line.

My local import shop's actually been sitting on some for a long time now. I'll check the price and check back in here.

you can get the original, in good shape, loose, complete for $40-50, so i don't see the point in overpaying for a reissue. even if you have to buy reprolabels, that's still a huge savings

The perception of 'mintyness', the box, the fact it helps complete the TFC line.

Technically he was 17th out of 21. Soundblaster, Perceptor, Kup & Wheelie and Blaster rounded out the line. Coming toward the end of the line probably didn't help his commonness though.

Yup, I love the Collection line and still think about "upgrading" from what I currently own to the Collection versions that I don't have at times. I know many (justifiably) love the G1-style packaging of the Encore line, but I would've loved to see the Collection line continue.

true, tfc boxes are nice too, but if just going for the figure, i got a mint original, basically stickers freshly applied and stored away for a lot less, and there's the perception of original to boot.

eventually i might complete my tfc collection though, but the prices now are getting crazy, and i only have a couple

ditto. I'm sure the Dinobots would have befitted immensely from the collection-book styled packaging. :D

Soundblaster is expensive as well? Can't find one below $100.
