In addition to looking like utter shit, Optimus looks Naked to me... If that makes sense.

 

I'm thinking the ports are under his wings based on the images. Doesn't look like he had much else done to him.

I hope that is true, regarding Skywarp. That mold already had a few dings in alt mode...but if the ports are under the wings I won't care.

Those mech-ports ruin the whole figure.
Why are they even needed?
Wouldn't the microns peg fit in the existing holes already on the toys?

I hope deluxe Ratchet has a good micron weapon because I want to buy their Ratchet but if it looks anything like these two (ports killing the alt mode) Ill stick to the Hasbro release

 

wow. Upon closer examination, these ports are really awkward. How unfortunate. I was really excited about getting the microns, but now... I'm like 50% less excited. It will suck paying hugely inflated prices to import crappy inferior figures.

Are all the Takara RiD molds going to include the micron gimmick? If so, I'll probably just buy the Hasbro versions regardless of colors. I can't stand those peg holes.

 

Wow, they really made a mess of these, that's a lot of money I won't be tempted to spend.  

 

Eh, I'm torn here. On one hand those minicons or whatever are cool, and I really don't mind the mechtech ports. If anything, I think they could be good for arming weapons we like in alt mode, thus actually having a usable alt mode that's not available via the hasbro releases without a drill & a good amount of balls.

However on the same time, shit from Japan is always quite a bit more, and especially now that wave 2's been found in the States (not to mention wave 1 getting to the bigger cities in Canada already), I really don't see myself ordering these online. Like, maybe if the paint was heavily better like in the past (in which case I could mentally write off that I'm getting more than a minicon), but right now, I'm actually with the people saying "fuck this shit", even if not in as dismissive of a manner.

 

Hmm I wasn't planning on getting these Optimus and BB, but I do have the Takara versions of Megs, Ratchet and Soundwave preordered, so I am kinda worried how those will look. Also has it been confirmed if the micron will take the place of the Hasbro weapons or come in addition to them?

 

The only good thing about the ports on the backs is that you can make a custom wing pack if you chose to do so.

 

I'm still picking these up for the minicons. My stuff spends almost all its time in 'bot mode anyways so the minicon ports in alt mode don't bother me.

Though the Movieverse (outside of Autobot Alliance, which looks really fluky in hindsight) toys from Takara didn't really feature different decos, I am still surprised the main Prime line doesn't have something different for Optimus and Bumblebee. Takara's Animated and United lines did feature different decos from their US counterparts, and Prime toys are not Movieverse. I guess we'll see what happens going forward with the other releases. I was really hoping their Voyager Megs would end up with a more metallic silver deco.

 

Takaratomy does change decos......in the wrong direction.
They omit many paintapps for price reduction
(as compared to FE, Voy 4200>4000, DLX 2800>2000 JPY without tax)
BB's stripes on chest, CJ's belly, shoulders, Knees, Toes and so on are all stickers.
