That shell looks handpainted to me (based on the yellow) and it's not translucent, leads me to believe that's a custom. On the other hand, they nailed the color, so I could be wrong.

 

There was a different custom already mirrored in the thread. One was from Cloudburst, and the other is Landmine, I believe. Neither were the mold from the preorder campaign.

 

Looks like some folks missed the original message saying that they made the 2000 mark but missed the 3000 mark for the Pretender shell and are trying to make heads and tails over the translation regarding "Commercialization". It's the same speculation we've been having for several months now...

 

Yeah, I thought originally it was just that they were going to make it but didn't hit 3000 pre-orders so it isn't happening, but since people are receiving Grand Max now and daimchoc just posted that earlier, I was wondering if there was something we were missing.

 

Welp, if that's truly the case, then I guess it's time to quit on that custom pretender shell, and put that time into something else.

 

It's not. Folks have their Grand Maximus already in hand and have no Pretender shells so there's no "sneak it in" campaign going on.

At best, we may yet see it offered as a Camera Store exclusive or something...but I'm not one to count my chickens prior to birth.

 

Oh I thought that was a completely different photo compared to the controversial one.

 

It's the same image from before LG-EX Grand Maximus' release. It says the 3,000 minimum pre-order target for them to include the Prime Master/Pretender shell was not met. The 2,000 pre-orders for them to proceed with production of Grand Max was.

 

Maybe already answered, but when are these suppose to start showing up stateside?

 

I hope it's an easy to obtain campaign item though past recent experience has shown me that these things tend to go fast due to scalpers. Japan is not immune to the scalper phenomenon, sadly.

Im thinking about getting greatshot since for some reason i really like the colors. I know it's just sixshot recolor but the extra added parts to make him a autobot is just so cool.

If you read through the comments, though, the translation is exactly the same announcement as a few months ago. I mean, what are you hoping for? Some Grands to come with shells and others to not?

 

Oh, no, I wasn't hoping for anything (except maybe a Grand sold separately later on, which would be nice, but I won't hold my breath). I agree that it's the same - I never thought it changed. I was just pointing out that @daimchoc posted about it on his Facebook page yesterday and said it was coming out now, so I posted it here to see if anyone knew what was going on (because obviously the TakaraTomy page doesn't say anything different than before). I figured it was just a mistake but thought I'd post about it just in case, since I haven't been following these too closely over the past few weeks.
