I'm more than okay with + releases of everyone between 12 and 22, but they're definitely making the right decision in making a new Prime. I'd love a Bumblebee v3 because he's one of my favourite characters, but MP-21 still gets a hell of a lot right.

I don't think we'll get any arm communicators with pictures in them. Pretty sure that wasn't actually in the show, just a cool idea they used for MP-1. Prime did have a little arm communicator in one episode, though:

    Or else something like this:

Well everyone knows Bumblebee v1 came with MP-1:

Sure he was a little small and only one two-dimensional, which is why we got our v2 MP-21.

I quite like Bumblebee having a legitimate car mode, and his 'Bot mode manages to be perfection in spite of the alt. mode being different from the show. A rerelease of MP-21 in bright, eye-searing yellow would do me fine, although I can understand why some want his squashy cartoon car mode.

I’m pretty sure he had the arm communicator in autoberserk.

Though it has been a bit since I revisited the g1 toon...

He had this in Auto Berserk:

    Screen Shot 2018-03-08 at 18.34.05.png

Which told him when his energy levels are low. Skimming through the episode now I can't find a communicator.

Just goes to show if his arm arrows should be any colour other than red it should be blue, not yellow!

Where the heck did thos triangles even come from? They aren’t molded on the original figure, and aren’t printed on the stickers.

Hasui vaguely thinks like Steve Jobs, he innovates and updates. He was a great designer, just like the current one. Hasui and the current designer have done great things on different roads.

Lol dude what? Kobayashi put the yellow forearms arrows first with MP-1 :lol

Just because people gave Kobayashi shit for so long doesn't mean anyone should do the same to Hasui. Don't sink to that level. Both fantastic designers. If Hasui returns to the line, he'll stick to the current aesthetic and kick ass, same as Kobayashi.

Not sure, probably from the comics? Wonder which is the first Prime figure to have them...

The triangles themselves are definitely from the Marvel character model art that was used for the comic and the cartoon, not sure when they were first colored yellow. I think the first toy that had the triangle on the arms was the cab bot Powermaster Optimus Prime.

I think it’s MP-1 we can blame for the triangles being yellow. Likewise the lights on the top of the cab.

Holy crabs, i've never noticed that his arrows in the arms were just marked instead of having colour.

Seeing the cartoon, i can see them being translucent for a blue LED in the new MP.

This isnt really neccessarily true. And it was way too long tbh. But since i was there, ill fill you in brother. In the beginning, 2003 in Japan, and 2004 in USA, MP-01 Convoy/ Optimus Prime Masterpiece was released. And it was made to look like the cartoon. As has 96% of the line. The line was never made to homage just the original toy. It did have some of that in it but the Masterpiece line has ALWAYS been to look like the cartoon 1st. The thing is engineering wasn't the same back then. The designers did their best to look like the source material but it was mostly all sculpting back then. There has been MAJOR advancements in the industry since starting around 2009. Just about when MP-09 & MP-10 were being designed. So the fact they keep going back to do more accurate molds is totally because they weren't able to do such a good job before. MP-01 was engineering at its ABSOLUTE BEST back in 2004. It won awards for best action figure AND best transformations. He was made with the cartoon in mind. So was MP-08 Grimlock, MP-09 Rodimus Convoy, MP-10 Convoy, MP-11 Starscream, MP-12 Sideswipe, MP-13 Soundwave ect. ect..all the way up except the deco's on certain Diaclone and the cars were made real. . If you buy the toys and go through the manuals you would know/see the animation stills they were trying to match. Keep in mind this was still before the age of computer designing everything. Or the very very start of it in the toy industry. So the fact they finally able to design a MP-50 Animation accurate season 1 Convoy/Optimus Prime is something we as fans since 1984-1988 (since we was kids) have been waiting for. ;)

Also yellow eyes Optimus dates back to the original toy as well as the comics, both! And Has-Tak has been "throwing us bones" since they realized the adult collectors make up a good chunk of their sales, right around the 25th anniversary.
