That waist gap exposed hinged on front grille though...
I think the upper body could've seated/flushed properly on the waist to hide that hinge before taking a photo.

    I know right?

It's going to be really satisfying doing the whole chest, I think. The windows open and flip around, and when they're closed back in truck mode they sit lower than in bot mode. The motion of the truck top coming up from his back, while the bot top goes down into behind his windows is quite beautiful. The sides of his truck accordion out from inside him, as his whole torso then pushes forward off his pelvis. His legs look like something else.

    Sweeeeeet

It's only so visible because the reverse ab crunch is in action. Otherwise it'll be much more hidden, like this:

So it looks like I was wrong that the panels on the backs of his hands imply Sunstreaker articulation, since they remain flush with the rest of the hand even when it's in action

The articulation is definitely there though (is that the silver of a pin beneath his thumb?).

From that closeup could the hand be on a ball and socket?

    Is that line really necessary?

I showed my brother the new Optimus and he was pretty impressed, and asked if he was wearing Sideswipe's jetpack. That is what it looks like, isn't it? :lol  Those shots have shown that his backpack is quite a bit more prominent in the movie, though. I'm happy that the backpack is clean, I think it'll look better in colour, and I don't think it's any more over-sized than Shockwave's, Hot Rod's or Sunstreaker's - and I'm fine with their backpacks in-hand. For me the positives outweigh the negatives here - the animation accuracy, the real-world vehicle mode, the extensive articulation. Everything I've ever wanted from an Optimus Prime figure.

It's hard to tell isn't it? The wrist joint looks a little different than the previous photos we had from Wonder Fest. I'd be surprised though, they seem to go out of their way to avoid using ball joints (except on the tiny figures like Cassettes/Targetmasters)

    Paging @Deruji
    Paging @Shin Densetsu
    Paging @Emperor Bruticus IV

Please report to page 395 for immediate translation

    ;)

    Not much of interest.
They briefly mention everyone's surprise at Hound showing up unannounced at WonFes.
Then it goes on to say how Convoy is show accurate, even from the back and is highly articulated. He's the new flagship figure of the line.
As soon as they receive more information on the figure they'll share.

I'm thinking he'll get a spread either next month or the month after that.

    Uh...
    Is that even a Transformer?
No, seriously. That looks even better than figure arts figure. Like, HOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW
So you have an ab crunch, a reverse ab crunch, and side to side?
    Please take me away, Convoy...

The line was necessary becuase that is how I'm feeling about this figure. I see much gushing going on and I just not feeling it quite as much. I guess it could be construed as a comment on hyperbolic 'fanboy' reaction, and to an extent it is, but it's more to do with my own inability to overlooks some issues and get excited about this figure. Plus it was a response to a critism I agree with, PLUS I put plenty of qualifiers in...

So yeah maybe someone's being a touch too sensitive ;)
