Is $57 too much to pay shipped ?? Every major online retailer is out of stock. With no looks to restocking .. Should I bite on this while it's still available??

Unless you're really over the moon for the Takara version, I'd simply wait for the US release and only pay $12 + tax.

$57 is too high for a Takara deluxe in my book. However given that with shipping it would probably be about $47 if you got it from BBTS, etc, the question becomes is it worth the extra $10.

If\when HLJ gets theirs it should be cheaper than 45 USD to import one. They are on backorder for a while, but not discontinued.

I'd get one to see how it goes, if the others are any indication the RID one could be smaller than you'd like.

I don't think it was ever less than $35 plus shipping anyway?

If it were me, i'd just suck up the extra $10-15 and get on with it.

Hate to be that guy, but i think HLJ putting things on backorder doesn't necessarily mean they think there's a good chance of it coming through.

The upcoming Hasbro RID one looks like it could possibly feature a sleeker, less kibbly design, so you may just want to wait for that to turn up.

That said, I was convinced that the RID Cliffjumper would trump the First Edition version, and RID Prime and Bumblebee don't seem to have fared any better against their FE counterparts, so I could be wrong!

I wouldn't pay more than $15 for that mold, personally.

I just going for the hasbro version. I am not that picky to spend the extra 30 dollars for more paint.

This isn't what collecting is about ^ the cheapest way out/ settling for a different figure.. And We're not getting a U.S hasbro first edition vehicon... And my reasoning is all the first edition figures look wayyyyyy better/ more show accurate then there RID counterparts.. I'm just trying to get yalls opinion.. Pay more to garentee I get one or wait on a possible restock that may never come...

Then the SDCC pictures of Vehicon (with a slightly different deco than the Takara) slated to be in Wave three don't mean anything to you.

I didn't realize they were different. I haven't been paying that close attention. But to answer your question, no it doesn't mean anything to me. I'd rather buy 3 lesser hasbro versions than 1 Takara. That's just my personal opinion though. I don't blame anyone for feeling the opposite.

I wouldn't pull the trigger. Of course I can't be certain, but I'd still say that online stores will get another shipment of the FE figures in.

Like i said before, if you're within $10-15 of what it would've cost you before, suck it up and get on with it.

    From where?

Hasbro and Takara share production facilities, and they probably stopped manufacturing FE toys at least a few months back.

Missing a production window is a possible reason why FE toys aren't getting a European release.

To me it would definitely not be worth fifty-seven bucks, but if it's worth it to you, go for it. Personally I'm going to wait and get the second mold. At this point I'm not counting on seeing any of the FA figures at retail, and the second mold overall looks better, imho.
