Through my regular eBay browsing, I'm noticing that TFC #0 Optimus Prime reissue regularly sells for $200-$250. However, the first Takara reissue issued in 2000 that has a more 'real' look, sells for a much lower value of $75-$125. Even the 2002 New Years reissue with all the extra goodies is way under the $200 ceiling.

Is this simply a supply issue or is there something extra in the TFC #0 I'm not aware of? Unfortunately, I skipped purchasing it considering I already had the 2000 release. Did Takara just make less of the TFC #0 than their earlier reissues?

I think its has to do with the accessories that came TFC #0 I had both and TFC #0 has the battle/energon AX prime used on the animation series. TFC Megatron on the other hand has the energon mace he used to beat the heck out of Prime. As far as I know that's the only difference hence, more value.

It also came with the binder that you can take all the pages out of the reissues and put them into it. It was a special binder with odd rings and an Autobot symbol on the front it.

IMO its because that particular Prime is part of a series...there's some sort of consistency which appeals to most collectors.

Are the colors different on the plastic between the two? Or are they identical?

It's all because of pinkimus prime. A lot of people seem to be scrambling to get another version asap. Even I was considering purchasing a pepsi or encore to celebrate the holiday season... alas I think I will stick to my french G1 with his red feet and get a megatron re-issue... What is the value of TFC #06 Megatron??

I'd take the new years prime over it anyday. Matrix, Blue windows and eyes FTW. Plus two guns and an action master, mose mat and stickers. TFC has nice packaging, but new years is the perfect set for me.

I think a large part of it is the fact that's its part of a numerical series of reissues with pretty packaging. Us nerds love that kind of thing, you know.
