A Rebel themed combiner that forms Ben Kenobi.
Naboo Starfighter don\'t you mean a N-1 Starfighter?
The bot mode is just as imposing as it should be.
Looks really good in both modes. I kinda wish they would employ the Head/Titanmaster gimmick for this line so we can swap heads around. That bot transector would look pretty nice as Star Wars Megatron if you could swap the head and gave him a fusion cannon.
Didn't we..already go thorugh this? Why do it AGAIN?
Apparently this new sub-line of transforming Star Wars figures will be handled by Takara Tomy, and not Hasbro, so there'll be better sculpts, tech details, gimmicks (the little bonus Vader and Stormtrooper minifigs), and articulation/proportions on the bot modes. My guess is that ever since Disney bought the rights to Star Wars, they've been wanting to push harder and harder into the Asian and Japanese markets. And those markets love giant robots, so why not merge the two?
I like the fact that there\'s no partforming and no shellformer to this new Darth Vader transformer, unlike the old one.
I Preordered from Amiami along with Topspin, Twintwist & movie best Jetfire. Now I have to start saving up for March.
Deluxe limbs = Vader's TIE Fighter, TIE Fighter, TIE Bomber, TIE Interceptor, TIE Striker, TIE Silencer or TIE Defender.
Voyager body = Imperial Shuttle, Sith Infiltrator or ???
Combined form = Vader? Maul? Sidious? Jar Jar?
Ship still looks better to bot mode maybe its cockpit that makes waist or tie advance wings if it's possible for ship wings lay close to bot mode back like cape like I may like it little more in bot mode
I was never convinced this was a good idea 10 + years ago...but, I don't know that Disney ever met someone else's idea that they didn't try to make a buck on.
So if Star Wars is Transformers would that mean Star Trek is GoBots?
Careful what you say. Trekkies are more prevalent than you realize, and they will take every opportunity to try and reassert their dominance over cult-classic space sagas.
In all seriousness, Star Trek is better straight Science Fiction (which is now a dubious claim, now that there are so many beings running around the Star Trek galaxy with deity-levels of power, like the Q) compared to the Science Fantasy/Space Opera of Star Wars.
Merchandising! Merchandising! Merchandising!
I\'m a fan of both Star Trek and GoBots.
I wouldn't mind them doing some of the newer characters instead of doing the same old original trilogy characters (which it no doubt will be). However, a second better crack at boba fett and slave one would be appreciated.
Id like to see poe's xwing, hera and kanan from rebels as the new han/chewie combined vehicle, and jyn from rogue one. Maybe even a junker speeder version of rae.
I always liked the crossovers. I ended up with quite a few and I still display my darth maul (best figure of the line imo) deathstar vader, tie bomber pilot, and commander cody.
I wonder how Vader will look like all painted up, still just the grey prototype for bot mode.
As opposed to any number of Jedi and Jedi like creatures running around who get their powers from either midiclorians or the general force gods depending on your view?
I'll take Q over that any day and as Q is the end all of evolution, makes a bit more sense IMO
Still awaiting on the inevitable Star Wars: the Flame Thrower!!!, by Hasbro.
That line seemed to ride heavily on the license, truth be told. The quality overall was lacking... Save for a few figures, the bot modes we're just whipped up quickly, leading to awkward articulation or forms. The Marvel crossovers seemed MUCH better.
Clone Commander Cody, the Planet Former Vader are like, the only two figures I felt were decent.
This proto looks much better than all the older offerings. Wouldn't mind these figures... If at their worst for custom fodder. (maybe transector bodies?)
Surprised it took Hasbro and Disney this long to get a new deal for these going... Hope we see Marvel ones too!
