^ that looks bad..but IMHO it looks more like a lipstick mark... but yeah, yeouch.. hope you can try and get a replacement piece.
looks like mines going to have to be returned. i just opened him up and he is missing the silver from his lower back on his right side. its not a deal breaker for me since its the only time those apps are even seen, but i would rather have them there. ive had nothing but bad luck lately with tf's
Okay, just one question .... is the little triangle on his forehead reflective, because in some shots it looks matt/no paint app: where in others (and the Optibotimus review), it lights up ....? confused.com!! ===
I picked up Ratbat and Slugfest for very respectable prices on these boards. Complete and in very good nick too. Amazing pics TC, I love some of the mid-transformation shots but the best has gotta be him reaching for his gun on his back. Awesome.
Love mine. Don't foresee an issue with the leg joint. Mine had some wear on his tape deck door though. Randy
mine came late last night...about 8pm central lol. I've never had ups deliver that late but I suppose I was one of the last stops. soundwave is pretty amazing, but there are a couple qc issues to be aware of. there may be slight flashing issues where plastic was cut/trim. I heard another IL boardie had his a bit severely gouged and had to return, but mine is not very noticable. I did have a big blob of silver paint that dried on the blue part of his elbow. it looks like they painted the forearm and then locked it together with his bicep before it fully dried. luckily that can be removed with a bit of alcohol/thinner. last is his hip joint tightness. it's really freaking tight. not so much that I feel like I'm going to break him, but I do hope someone finds a way to mod it a bit smoother. it seems like a bit, but those are really just a few very minor nitpicks on an awesome figure. lazerbeak is amazing for being at the oldschool tape size, and I was very surprised to see the diecast feet on soundwave after the diecast free mp-12 and mp-14. overall I still think it was well worth the money. definitely the best representation of soundwave ever. his gimmicks are very fun and enjoyable and transform is mostly fluid. very happy with the purchase.
Hmm, don't hold me to it as I don't have mine in hand yet, but I'm wondering if a Tamiya clear yellow over Testors/Model Master chrome silver would work.
Mine (in the bottom picture) has the triangle painted silver. I wonder if others are missing that little dot of paint?
Finally got mine earlier today and hoooooly crap! I don't care what else 2013 might have in store. This is hands down the TF of the year for me! I seem to have lucked out when it comes to QC. The worst issues mine have are a quite noticeable nick in the gold paint, a foot that doesn't quite go all the way down when transforming into tape-deck mode (still works just fine, just doesn't sit quite as flush) and the tape door doesn't want to open on its own while in alt-mode. Other than that, mine's golden! Having it in hand, I can almost safely say that the hip joints are nothing to worry about. Wish I could say the same about the hinges on the leg-panels though. The ones that fold in half in order to fill up the gaps in alt-mode. Those were scary tight on mine the first few times and I was sure I was going to end up break something. They seem to have loosened up a bit now that I've transformed him back and forth a couple of times though. Anyway. Time for some picspam. You can find more in the Flickr set here. I'll add more pictures over time. I love the giant mitts SW has for hands. They don't even look like they could transform into his arms.
Sorry to be a downer but, not a chance. The chest is just too wide and theres no articulation to bring the arms together toward the chest.
